ApplicationHELUKABEL® TRAYCONTROL® 300 is a multi-core PVC data and control cable. Cross-sections with PLTC-ER and ITC-ER approval suitable for open,unprotected installation in cable trays to the machine; their outstanding oil resistance (OIL RES I & II) makes them ideally suited as connecting andjoining cables and also for control, signal and measuring systems in industrial plants. The flexible cable structure facilitates installation inside andoutside of machines and switch cabinets. Applications: tool machines, control panels, control and instrumentation technology, production automation,cable ducts, renewable energies.

The double-screening with aluminium foil (100% coverage) and copper braid (approx. 85% coverage)guarantee superior EMC protection. Applications: tool machines, control panels, measuring devices, production automation, cable ducts, renewableenergies.EMC = Electromagnetic compatibilityTo optimize the EMC features we recommend a large round contact of the copper braiding on both ends.

ApplicationHELUKABEL® TRAYCONTROL® 300-C TP is a screened, twisted pair data and control cable. Cross-sections with PLTC-ER and ITC-ER approval suitablefor open, unprotected installation in cable trays to the machine; their outstanding oil resistance (OIL RES I & II) makes them ideally suited as connectingand joining cables and also for control, signal and measuring systems in industrial plants. The flexible cable structure facilitates installation inside andoutside of machines and switch cabinets. The double-screening with aluminium foil (100% coverage) and copper braid (approx. 85% coverage)guarantee superior EMC protection. Applications: tool machines, control panels, measuring devices, production automation, cable ducts, renewableenergies.EMC = Electromagnetic compatibilityTo optimize the EMC features we recommend a large round contact of the copper braiding on both ends.

Flexibility - HELUKABEL's TRAYCONTROL series is very flexible due to its fine (Class K) stranding. Most tray cables on the marketing are Class B. Special compounds and short cable lay make it very flexible so it is easy to pull through conduit and long tray applications. More flexibility in the conductors makes installation in tight spaces and small bend radii simple.

Better Construction – Through the use of sophisticated cable design software and pressure-extrusion equipment, the TRAYCONTROL’s outer jacket has a smooth (non-convoluted) appearance making it perfectly sealed from the intrusion of water and harsh chemicals in cable compartments or panels when using cable gland protection. Some TRAYCONTROL products also use XLPE insulation, which is ideal for applications that require long cable runs due to its low capacitance.

Not all cables in industrial applications are alike. Here are some reasons for when and why you should consider using tray-rated cable:

Applications – Control wiring, electronics wiring, remote UPS, direct burial, machine wiring, lighting, power cables, wind turbine cables, servo, feedback and VFD cables.

Use – Tray cable (TC) is versatile enough to be used almost everywhere enabling users to store only one control cable in their warehouse. Tray cable products that are UL listed also meet NFPA 79 requirements. Additionally, cables that are TC-ER rated are capable of being installed in cable trays, including raceways, and outdoor locations where supported by a messenger wire, as well as exposed for up to six feet outside of the tray. Finally, UL-listed type TC cable is safe for use in Class 1, Division 2 hazardous locations, Class 1 control circuits, and when needed they can be directly buried.

Oil Resistance – Tray cable is rated Oil Res I/II to withstand many type of oils, lubricants and industrial fluids.

Operating Temperature – New compound formulations allow tray cables to operate at 90°C in both dry and wet applications.

Voltage – Most tray cable is approved for 600V applications, but tray cables that are WTTC rated are approved for 1000V applications. This enables tray cables to not only be used in wind turbine applications but makes them approved for high voltage demands found in VFD drives, which often run near 720V at their peak.

CE – For companies that heavily export, the CENELEC approval is required for tray cables to be used in the European Union. Having this stamp means that tray cable products conforms to CE low-voltage directives.

Other Approvals – Tray cable’s versatility comes from the many approvals that it meets such as TC-ER, PLTC-ER, ITC-ER, NFPA 79 (2015 edition), MTW, CIC, FT-4 and CSA AWM I/II A/B.
