FRENCH SOCIETY Hi, we’re FrenchSoc and we’re really excited for you guys to get involved with all of the amazing events we have planned for this year! To give you a taste of the wide range of socials we have on offer: we hold a fabulous annual trip to Paris, as well as hosting many themed bar crawls, brunches and film nights throughout the year. If there’s an excuse to dress up we will find it and put our own French spin on it! In addition to filling up your social diaries, we can provide you with useful academic support as we work closely with the French department here at Warwick. Please do feel free to approach us with any questions you may have: whether it’s about a spe-cific module or just university life in general, we’d be more than happy to answer!
Your Exec for 2015-16
President Kat Oliver Vice President Charlotte Daniels Secretary Ismay Bartholomew Social Secretary and Sponsorship Co-ordinator Maddy Goldrick; Annabel Green Film Club Co-ordinator Manon Phelps Treasurer Roshan Chopra
As well as our website, www.frenchsoc.co.uk, you can find the Warwick French Society
page on Facebook and on Twitter (@WarwickFrenchS). We can’t wait to welcome you all!
"Hallo und Willkommen to Warwick German Society! The German Society is here to help you through your German studies both academically and socially. We aim to bring together all students who study German (or just love Germany!) as well as Erasmus stu-dents on their year abroad from Germany. No matter whether you're a party animal or prefer chilling out, we have socials for you! Alongside our nights out and pub crawls, some of the socials also have an academic focus to increase your confidence in speaking Ger-man. Our Buddy Scheme matches Freshers with a second year studying the same course, and it offers Freshers support during their first year at uni. You can ask your second year buddy any questions you have about moving into Warwick, your course or any worries you might have! We're already excited about our annual tour to Germany in Term 2. This year, we're going to BERLIN! We really recommend this trip; it's a great opportunity to get to know your course mates, and improve your knowledge and love of Germany's capital. German Society is a very friendly, welcoming and fun-loving society - be sure to come and visit our stall at freshers fair! We can't wait to meet you. Before you arrive, please join our facebook group:

Attendance Monitoring Points
Staff in the School are required to report to the University students who miss the Attendance Monitoring Points set out below. If a student misses three monitoring points the Academic Office will write to the stu-dent concerned; however, students who have missed three monitoring points should expect their personal tutor to have investigated the reasons for their non-engagement long before they receive this formal letter. Where a student has missed six formal monitoring points in one academic year the University Academic Office will notify the relevant Director of Undergraduate Studies that the School should refer the student to the Continuation of Registration Committee as set out in University Regulation 36 (Governing Student regis-tration, attendance and progress), unless the School wishes to present reasons why referral is not appropri-ate. Where a student has missed eight formal monitoring points in one academic year the School or the Academic Registrar will invoke the process outlined in University Regulation 36 (Governing student registra-tion, attendance and progress).
International students should be particularly aware of the consequences of missing monitoring points: the Academic Office is obliged to report to the UK Border Agency of the Home Office any students who have been found not to be engaging with their degree course. This may have serious implications for your de-gree course and may affect you right to be in the UK.
