Indorex®

Using a spot-on or tablet flea treatment for every cat or dog in your household is essential to control fleas on your pet. However, flea eggs, larvae and pupae will live in our homes all year round.

Indorex® provides the protection you need to keep your home flea free.

...with Indorex household flea

Odourless, easy-to-use insecticidal spray.

Kills adult fleas and house dust mites and prevents the development of flea eggs and larvae.

Used by thousands of pet owners across the country, it regularly wins Best Cat Flea and Best Dog Flea Product (Home) in Your Cat and Your Dog Magazines.

Flea bites cause discomfort and irritate the skin of our pets.

Some pets develop an allergic reaction to flea saliva - a condition known as Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD) which causes them to scratch excessively and can lead to skin infections.

Fleas can pass on tapeworm eggs.

Heavy flea burdens in kittens and puppies can result in anaemia.

Did you know -

Keeping fleas at bay is an essential part of a preventative health regime!

The combination of a relatively mild climate and our centrally heated homes make fleas a year-round problem.

Fleas have a 4 stage life cycle and the fleas you might see on your pet will be just the tip of the iceberg!

Adult fleas live on your pet but represent only 5% of the total flea population in your home. When they lay eggs on your pets, the eggs roll off into your home and continue their life cycle.

Pupae can lie dormant for up to a year deep in carpets and flooring until warmth and vibrations from passing animals trigger them to hatch. Nothing but fire can kill them and they’re responsible for keeping the life cycle going.

Doors and windows Before using Indorex, ensure that all of your doors and windows are closed. You should remove your pets from the area to be treated and ensure all pet’s bedding is washed on a hot cycle.

Pets It is important that all animals are removed prior to treatment, including pet birds, reptiles, insects and spiders. Where possible, remove aquariums, vivariums and all water storage tanks (see FAQs for more information).

Naked flame Do not spray Indorex near a naked flame or pilot light.

Prior to using Indorex on or around any upholstered furniture, you should test on an inconspicuous area of fabric

How to use Start by shaking your can of Indorex well, remove the lid and hold the container upside down, pointing directly at the surface to be treated, at a distance of about 50cm.

Where to use Spray directly on carpets, flooring and skirting boards and underneath any rugs or blankets, paying particular attention to any cracks and crevices.

Avoid wetting furniture and carpeting, do not over-apply to polished wood surfaces.

A five second burst will treat approximately one square metre.

Ventilation Once you have sprayed, leave the room and wait for half an hour before ventilating the area by opening windows and doors for at least an hour.

Cleaning It is vital that you vacuum all floors and upholstered furniture for 7 consecutive days after using Indorex. The vibrations from the vacuum will make sure that any unhatched pupae will hatch out and be killed by the Indorex you have used.

Always empty the contents of the vacuum outside.

Indorex is best used together with a regular

flea prevention treatment for

your pet.

I have a fish tank which is too heavy to move - what should I do?

If you have a pump, switch it off. Cover the tank completely with two thick blankets. When spraying Indorex in the room, ensure that the nozzle is pointing downwards and away from the tank. After half an hour, ventilate the room for two hours. It will then be safe to remove the blankets and switch the pump back on.

I used Indorex a few days ago and there are still fleas jumping around!

The pupae stage of the flea life cycle can survive in houses for up to 12 months and are unaffected by any known pesticide. They hatch out in response to stimuli like vibrations and warmth. The pupae hatch in waves, so the vibration created by vacuuming for 7 consecutive days encourages hatching and any newly hatched fleas will be killed.

I’m asthmatic - what should I do?

The product itself represents no particular danger but the propellant is carbon dioxide and increased levels of this gas can be associated with asthma attacks. Consult your doctor and preferably get someone else to spray for you.

Is it safe for my baby (crawling on the floor) after spraying?

Yes - Indorex has been approved for amateur domestic use. Once dry (allow at least one and a half hours), Indorex binds to all surfaces in such a way that it will not come off onto the skin.

Is it safe to use if I’m pregnant?

Yes - sensible precautions such as wearing gloves, are advised.

What about human bedding?

What coverage does 1 can provide?

There is enough Indorex to treat the average, 79 square metre, 3 bedroom house.

House Dust Mites

The Health and Safety Executive has fully approved Indorex for the control of house dust mites.

Dust mites are one of the main triggers involved in some allergic skin diseases in dogs and are also implicated in asthma in humans.

Dust mites are barely visible to the unaided eye. They live off skin flakes shed into the environment so thrive in homes. There can be as many as 500 mites per gram of dust.

A single application of Indorex will kill these mites wherever it is sprayed, and provide control for at least 1 year.

Dead dust mites can also trigger allergic skin disease. For this reason it is essential that a high power, high filtration vacuum cleaner is used regularly to eliminate the dead dust mite bodies from your home.
