INDIVIDUAL MEDIA PRESENTATION Presentation day is Tuesday July 19

There are absolutely NO extensions or excuses, you have plenty of time to complete.

This is a presentation which is the starting point of your 2 minute opening sequence. This is done individually, but you should all try to work within the same genre. After you have presented this individually, you will collaborate your ideas and end up with one single idea for an opening sequence.

The majority of this presentation should be annotated VISUALS (pictures and diagrams) and NOT a lot of writing. You must use your own words (don’t copy and paste from internet)

Structure your powerpoint in this format:

PART A-Include a title page -Brief page to show the breakdown of marks in production

(Research & Planning Construction Evaluation)(levels)

PART B-brief history of film-your chosen genre and a little bit of information about your genre with examples-conventions of your genre

PART C-What are some films that you watched and got inspired by? (can take some from genre partner project) (these films should relate to your chosen genre)

PART D-What is your chosen theme for your opening sequence? (example = addiction, conflict, obsession, etc.)-show a brainstorm of ideas for your opening sequence (you need to a have a range of ideas)-choose 1 or 2 main ideas for your opening sequence

PART E-In 5 brief bullet points, what will happen in the whole film-In 5 brief bullet points, what will happen in the opening sequence-how are you working in what you learned from Todorov/Propp/Strauss-what are you going to do at the end of your opening sequence for the audience to make them want to watch the rest of the film? (consider genre: example: thriller = create tension and climax at the end, drama = introduce a character and provide an introduction to story)

PART G-complete a basic storyboard for your opening sequence-You may complete a script if you wish but it is not required

PART F-who is your target audience? (age, gender, hobbies/interests, lifestyle, location, social class)-how are you going to make an opening sequence which is interesting to your target audience?
