23'd Psalm (#1) The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He malceth me to lie down in green pastures; he leadeth me beside still waters. He restoreth my soul; he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me. Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Psalm 121 (#3) I will lift mine eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil; he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Afterglow (#2) I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one, I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun Of happy memories that I leave When life is done.

Do not Stand (#5) Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there, I do not sleep I am a thousand winds that blow I am the diamond's gift of snow I am the sunlight on ripened grain I am the autumn's gentle rain When you awaken in the morning's Hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight I am the soft stars that shine at night Do not stand at my grave and cry I am not there I did not die.

Beyond the Sunset (#4) Should you go first and I remain, to walk the road alone, I'll live in memories garden, dear, with happy days we've known. In Spring, I'll wait for roses, red, when faded the lilacs blue. In Early Fall when brown leaves fall, I'll catch glimpse of you. Should you go first and I remain, for battles to be fought. Each thing you've touched along the way will be a hallowed spot. I'll hear your voice, I'll see you smile, tho blindly I may grope, The memory of your helping hand will buoy me on with hope. Should you go first and I remain, one thing I'll have to do: Walk slowly down that long, long path, for soon I'll follow you. I want to know each step you take, so I may take the same. For someday down that lonely road you'll hear me call your name.

Hail Mary (#6)

Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God pray for us shiners now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.

FOOTPRINTS (#8) One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonged to him, and the other to the LORD. When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it. "LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you the most you would leave me." The LORD replied, "My precious, precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

God Saw (#7) God saw you getting tired And a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you And whispered "come to Me." With tearful eyes we watched you, And saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, We could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

God take the best (#9) God only takes the best. God called you home. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. A part of us went with you. As long as life and memory last, We will remember you. We miss you now, Our hearts are sore. As time goes by, we miss you more. Your loving smile, Your gentle face, No one can fill your vacant place.

Irish Blessing (#10) May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face, And rains fall soft upon your fields, And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Irish Poem (#11) Death is nothing at all! I have only slipped away into the next room. Whatever we were to each - that we are still. Call me by my old familiar name. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play — smile think of me - pray for me. Let my name be the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effort. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was. There is absolutely unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of your sight? I am but waiting for you - for an interval - somewhere very near - just around the corner. All is well, nothing is past, nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before, only better — infinitely happier and forever. We will all be one together with Christ.

Let us Pray (#12)

Almighty God, through the death of Your Son on the cross, you have overcome death for us. Through his burial and resurrection from the dead you have made the grave a holy place and restored to us eternal life. We pray for those who died believing in Jesus and are buried with him in the hope of rising again. God of the living and the dead, may those who faithfully believed in you on earth praise you forever in the joy of heaven. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Memorare (#13)

Remember 0 most gracious Virgin Mary that never was it known that anyone who fled to Thy protection. implored Thy help, and sought Thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto Thee, 0 Virgin of virgins. My Mother! to Thee I come; before Thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. Oh Mother of the Word incarnate! despise not my petitions, but, in Thy mercy, hear and answer me. Amen.

0 Gentlest Heart (#14)

0 gentlest heart of Jesus, ever present in the Blessed Sacrament, ever consumed with burning love for the poor captive souls, have mercy on the soul of thy departed servant. Be not severe in Thy judgement but let some drops of Thy Precious Blood fall upon the devouring flames, and do Thou 0 Merciful Saviour, send Thy Angels to conduct Thy departed servant to a place of refreshment, light and peace. Amen Merciful Jesus grant eternal rest.

Resurrection Prayer (#15)

Most merciful Father, we commend our departed into your hands. We are filled with the sure hope that our departed will rise again on the Last Day with all who have died in Christ. We thank you for all the good things you have given during our departed's earthly life. 0 Father, in your great mercy, accept our prayer that the Gates of Paradise may be opened for your servant. In our turn, may we too be comforted by the words of faith until we greet Christ in glory and are united with you and our departed.

Safely Home (#16)

I am home in Heaven, dear ones. Oh, so happy and so bright! There is perfect joy and beauty in this everlasting light. All the pain and grief is over. Every restless tossing passed. I am now at peace forever. Safely home in Heaven at last. Did you wonder I so calmly trod the valley of the shade? Oh! but Jesus' love illuminated every dark and fearful glade. And he came Himself to meet me in that way so hard to tread. And with Jesus' arm to lean on.Could I have one doubt or dread? Then you must not grieve so sorely for I love you dearly still. Try to look beyond earth's shadows. Pray to trust our Father's Will. There is work still waiting for you. So you must not idly stand; do it now, while life remaineth - You shall rest in Jesus' land. When that work is all completed He will gently call you Home. Oh, the rapture of that meeting, Oh, the joy to see you come!

St. Anthony (#17)

0 glorious St. Anthony, safe refuge of the afflicted and distressed, who by miraculous revelation has directed all those who seek aid to come to Thy altar with the promise that whosoever visits it for nine consecutive Tuesdays, and there piously invokes thee, will feel the power of he intercession. I, a poor sinner, encouraged by this promise, come to thee. 0 powerful Saint, and with a firm hope I implore thy aid, thy protection, thy counsel and thy blessing. Obtain for me, I beseech thee my request in this necessity. But if it should be opposed to the Will of God and the welfare of my soul, obtain for me such other graces as shall be conducive to my salvation. Thru Christ our Lord. Amen

St. Francis (#18)

Lord make me an instrument of Thy peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love. Where there is injury. ..pardon. Where there is doubt...faith. Where there is despair...hope. Where there is darkness... light. Where there is sadness.. joy. 0 Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek To be consoled...as to console, To be understood...as to understand, To be loved.. .as to love, For It is in giving.. .that we receive, It is in pardoning, that we are pardoned, It is in dying.. that we are born to eternal life.

St. Jude (#19)

St. Jude, glorious Apostle, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor has caused you to be forgotten by many, but the true Church invokes you universally as the Patron of things despaired of; pray for me, who am so miserable pray for me, that finally I

may receive the consolation: and the succor of Heaven it all my necessities tribulations and sufferings, Particularly (make yout request here) and I may bless God with the Elect throughout Eternity. Amen. St. Jude, Apostle, martyr and relative of our Lord Jesus Christ, of Mary and of Joseph, intercede for us.

St. Patrick (#20)

0 great Apostle of Ireland, glorious St. Patrick, to whom under God, so many are indebted for the most precious of all treasures, the great gift of Faith, receive our fervant thanks for the zeal and charity which have been to thousands the source of blessings so invaluable. Ask for all who dwell in this land and the land of thy labors, the precious light of Faith, and beg for us on whom its glorious rays have long since beamed, the grace to regulate our lives by its sacred maxims.

To My Loved Ones (#21)

No reason for sorrow, no reason to cry. Look toward tomorrow and I'll tell you why my memories of you and yours of me are tilled with love and laughter forever. You'll see no reason to worry, nor question God as to why you have lost me. No reason to say goodbye. It's time for my journey home, a beautiful and peaceful trip that I must make alone. So just be strong and keep a smile, we'll only be apart for a little while. The love I've known is a very special part, the love I've shown came straight from the heart. I leave you now to go on my way to a wonderful place where we'll be together someday. No reason at all as you can see. I'm with my Lord. He'll take care of me.

Walk in Sunshine (#22)

May you always walk in sunshine and God's love around you flow, for the happiness you gave us; no one will ever know. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone; a part of us went with you; the day God called you home.

A million times we've needed you. A million times we've cried. If love could only have saved you, You never would have died. "We never lose those we give to God". St. Augustine

We give them Back (#23)

We give them back to you, 0 Lord, who first gave them to us; yet as you did not lose them in the giving, so we do not lose them by their return

For what is yours is ours also, if we belong to you. Love is unending, and the boundary of this mortal life is but a horizon, and a horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight. Lift us up, strong Son of God, that we may see more clearly . And while you prepare a place for us, prepare us also for that happy place, that we may be with you and with those we loved for evermore.

We sat father (#24)

We sat beside your bedside, Our hearts were crushed and sore; We did our best to the end 'Til we could do no more, In tears we watched you sinking We watched you fade away; And though our hearts were breaking, We knew you could not stay. You left behind some aching hearts, That loved you most sincere. We never shall and never will Forget you father dear.

We sat mother (#25) We sat beside your bedside, Our hearts were crushed and sore; We did our best to the end 'Til we could do no more, In tears we watched you sinking We watched you fade away; And though our hearts were breaking, We knew you could not stay. You left behind some aching hearts, That loved you most sincere. We never shall and never will Forget you mother dear.

When I must leave (#26)

When I must leave you for a little while - please do not grieve and shed wild tears and hug your sorrow to you through the years. But start out bravely with a gallant smile: And for my sake and in my name live on and do all things the same, Feed not your loneliness on empty days, But fill each waking hour in useful ways, Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer and I in turn will comfort you and hold you near; And never, never be afraid to die. For I am waiting for you in the sky.

Your Gentle Face (#27)

Your gentle face and patient smile. With sadness we recall You had a kindly word for each And died beloved by all. The voice is mute and stilled the heart That loved us well and true. Ah, bitter was the trial to part From one so good as you. You are not forgotten loved one Nor will you ever be As long as life and memory last We will remember thee. We miss you now, our hearts are sore, As time goes by we miss you more, Your loving smile, your gentle face No one can fill your vacant place.

GOLFERS PSALM 23 (#28)

Modified from the Original Psalm of David

By Rev. Don Remick

The Lord is my Greens Keeper, I shall not want. He maketh me to walk down the green fairways. He leadeth me beside the quiet ponds. He restores my drive. He leadeth my cart from link to link for His name's sake. Yea, thou I walk through sand traps and water hazards; I shall fear no evil; for Thou are with me. Thy 9 Iron and Thy sand wedge, they comfort me. Thou preparest the greens before me in the presence of my competition. Thou annointest my head with sunscreen. My ball rolls into the cup. Surely Birdies and Eagles shall follow me All the days of my life. And I shall dwell in the 19th Hole of the Lord forever.
