What is the festival HOLI ?
A spring festival, to celebrate nature’s colors with hues of color spread all
along. HOLI, is a festival to welcome spring and bid adieu to winter.
A festival to pray and hope for an abundant harvest,. For a country heavily
dependent on agriculture, this holds utmost significance.
Though HOLI has its origns attributed to ancient mythology,
today, it is the biggest festival in India, celebrated throughout the
country. Every individual, from young to old, rich to poor,
northener to Southerner come together, with “Gulal” ( colors ) to
spread colors, cheer, and celerbrate togetherness.
From Bollywood movies to Euope, this festival has inspired
one and all to celebrate natures color as one ..
www.holione.com is one such example....
What follows is my tribute to this great festival. and why I would
like to cherish this festival in a time capsule....
