    1. Do not expose the battery charger or adapter to directsunlight or use it in places with high humidity, such asa bathroom.

    2. Do not use harsh chemicals (such as alcohol, benzene,

    thinners, etc.) or detergents to clean your phone. Thiscould cause a fire.

    3. Do not drop, strike, or shake your phone severely. Itmay harm the internal circuit boards of the phone.

    4. Do not use your phone in high explosive areas as thephone may generate sparks.

    5. Do not damage the power cord by bending, twisting,pulling, or heating. Do not use the plug if it is loose asit may cause a fire or electric shock.

    6. Do not place any heavy items on the power cord. Donot allow the power cord to be crimped as it maycause electric shock or fire.

    7. Do not handle the phone with wet hands while it isbeing charged. It may cause an electric shock orseriously damage your phone.

    1. Do not place or answer calls while charging the phone as it mayshort-circuit the phone and/or cause electric shock or fire.

    2. Do not hold or let the antenna come in contact with your bodyduring a call.

    3. Make sure that no sharp-edged items such as animals teeth ornails, come into contact with the battery. This could cause a fire.

    4. Store the battery out of reach of children.5. Be careful that children do not swallow any parts (such as

    rubber plugs, earphone, connection parts of the phone, etc.)This could cause asphyxiation or suffocation resulting in serious

    injury or death.

    6. Unplug the power cord and charger during lightning storms toavoid electric shock or fire.

    7. Only use the batteries and chargers provided by LG. Thewarranty will not be applied to products provided by othersuppliers.

    8. Only authorized personnel should service the phone and its

    accessories. Faulty installation or service may result in accidentsand consequently invalidate the warranty.

    9. Your service provider programs one or more emergency phonenumbers, such as 911, that you can call under anycircumstances, even when your phone is locked. Your phones

    preprogrammed emergency number(s) may not work in alllocations, and sometimes an emergency call cannot be placeddue to network, environmental, or interference issues.

    Technical Details

    The UN610 is a trimode phonethat operates on among (CodeDivision Multiple Access CDMA)frequencies: cellular services at800 MHz, (Personal

    Communication Services PCS) at1.9 GHz and GPS.

    CDMA technology uses a featurecalled DSSS (Direct SequenceSpread Spectrum) that enables

    the phone to keepcommunication from beingcrossed and to use onefrequency channel by multipleusers in the same specific area.

    This results in a 10-fold capacityincrease when compared withanalog mode. In addition,features such as soft / softerhandoff, hard handoff, and

    dynamic RF power controltechnologies combine to reducecall interruptions.

    The Cellular and PCS CDMA

    networks consist of MSO (MobileSwitching Office), BSC (BaseStation Controller), BTS (BaseStation Transmission System), ,MS (Mobile Station) and GPS.

    Charging with PC USB

    Internal Qwerty Keypad

    Your phone features a QWERTY keyboard, specifically designed foreasy and comfortable text entry. The QWERTY keyboard uses astandard layout.

    1. Function Key allows you enter the alternatecharacter (such as @ for the T key) on theQWERTY keyboard (See "Entering and EditingInformation" on page 30 for moreinformation).

    2. SHIFT Key lets you change letter capitalizationwhen entering text, using the QWERTYkeyboard.

    3. SPACE Key lets you enter a space.

    4. Symbols Key lets you enter symbols whencomposing text messages.

    5. ENTER Key lets you move the cursor to thebeginning of the next line when composing

    text messages.

    6. Back key Deletes single spaces or characterswith a quick press, but press and hold todelete the text entered in a text field. Will alsoback you out of menus, one level at a time.

    The Battery

    The phone comes with arechargeable battery. The batterycharge level is shown at the top

    of the LCD screen.

    Installing the Battery

    Remove the battery cover bypressing down at the top-center

    of the battery cover, then slidingthe cover downward. Align thebattery with the terminals nearthe top of the phone (see image1), then snap the rest of the

    battery into place (see image 2).Align the battery cover then slideit upward until it clicks into place(see image 3).

    Removing the Battery

    Turn the phone off. Slide thebattery cover downward toremove it. Use the opening nearthe bottom of the battery to lift

    the battery out.Charging the Battery

    Use the charger provided withyour phone:

    Warning! Use only the chargerprovided with the phone. Usingany charger other than the oneincluded with the UN610 maydamage your phone or battery.

    How to Remove YourmicroSD Card

    1. Gently press and release theexposed edge of themicroSD card to eject it.

    2. Remove the microSD cardfrom the slot and replace the

    cover.

    Battery Charge Level

    The battery charge level is shownat the top right of the LCDscreen. When the battery charge

    level becomes low, the low batterysensor alerts you in up to threeways: sounding an audible tone,blinking the battery icon, anddisplaying a warning message. If

    the battery charge level becomesexceedingly low, the phoneautomatically switches off and anyfunction in progress is not saved.

    Signal StrengthCall quality depends on thesignal strength in your area. Thesignal strength is indicated on

    the screen as the number of barsnext to the signal strength icon-- the more bars, the better

    the signal strength. If the signalquality is poor, move to an open

    area. If you are in a building, thereception may be better near awindow.

    Making Calls

    Correcting Dialing Mistakes

    If you make a mistake while

    dialing a number, press

    once to erase the last digit

    entered, or hold down for

    2 seconds to go back to standby

    mode.

    Redialing Calls1. Press twice to redial the

    number from the last call. The

    last 150 calls (50 missed, 50

    received and 50 dialed) arestored in the call history list

    and you can also select any of

    these to redial.

    Receiving Calls

    1. When the phone rings and/or

    vibrates, press to answer,

    Lock ModeSets your phone to require a 4-digit password in order to usethe phone.

    To quickly lock your phone pressfor three seconds and then

    enter your Lock Code. To unlock,

    press Right Soft Key

    Mute Function

    The Mute function is available

    during a phone call. To quickly

    activate Mute during a call, pressLeft Soft Key Mute, then to

    cancel press Left Soft Key

    Quick Volume AdjustmentsUse the side keys to adjust theMaster Volume while in standbymode, and the earpiece volume

    during a phone call. The upperkey increases the volume and thelower key decreases the volume.

    Call Waiting

    Your cellular service may offercall waiting. While a call is in

    progress, a beep indicatesanother incoming call. When callwaiting is enabled, you may putthe active call on hold while youanswer the other incoming call.

    NoteUntil you change it, the defaultlock code/password is the last 4digits of your phone number. Note
