Meet your future customers from India and abroadat INDIASOL 2014 www.csptoday.com/indiasol

    8-9 October,Leela Ambience, New Delhiwww.csptoday.com/indiasol

The solar industry in India is on its way to becoming a global

leader with over 2GW capacity installed in just four years,

the 20GW of grid-connected solar capacity by 2022 under the

National Solar Mission (NSM) is certainly a realistic aim. The pace

of industry growth is showing no signs of slowing over the next

    few years.

Indias government is now being led by Narenda Modi, who built

Gujarat into a leader in solar power and achieved the dual aims of

eliminating blackouts and boosting local manufacturing. The solar

industry is in a prime place to tackle those two challenges on a

national scale and seize a growing share of the electricity market

    in India.

Exporting Indian expertise abroad - Europe, MiddleEast and Africa

The solar industry in India has progressed immensely with

the skilled labour force, competitive pricing and solar expertise

gained over the last four years, Indian companies have reachedinternational standards of planning, developing and operating

utility scale CSP and PV project in terms of cost.

With all of that accumulated experience and expertise, now

is the time for developers, EPCs and suppliers to realise their

opportunities abroad in emerging markets such as the Middle East

    and Africa.

Key markets such as Saudi Arabia have ambitious targets of over

40GW by 2032 - but crucially, no experience in solar. This opens

an exciting window of opportunity for Indian companies who

are equipped to offer their services and do business. With key

companies such as Larsen & Toubro, ACME Solar, Tata Solar andmany more already planning their strategies for international and

bidding on projects in the MENA region, can you afford to miss

    out?

Indian solar expertise is already rapidly expanding abroad its

essential to understand the regional policies, infrastructures and

ideal local partners in place for your business and INDIASOL will

    provide this for you.

Overcome key barriers and power your business inIndia and abroad!

INDIASOL 2014 will provide a platform for the key officials, developers, EPCS, investors and suppliers in solar industry to

debate and discuss project development in India.

From policy updates, project bankability to case studies with real

performance data to analyse, the topics addressed at INDIASOL

have been researched for months to help you win utility scale

projects both in local and key international markets.

INDIASOL 2014 the key industry players in one place

CSP Today India has been the most prestigious CSP focused

event in India for the past four years and is now partnering with

    THE PHOTOVOLTAICINDUSTRY

    THE CONCENTRATEDSOLAR POWER INDUSTRY

    2014 has already provided

huge opportunity for thePV industry, with the first

750MW of the NSM Phase II

    being allocated and the next

    750MW set to be announced

    in the coming months. Phase

II was introduced with a new

    government policy called the

    Viability Gap Funding (VGF)

    Scheme and a Domestic

    Content Requirement (DCR)

    category for the very first

    time.

    Such reforms show that

    the industry is constantly

    evolving, but also raises

    questions: Should there be a

    fixed feed-in-tariff for solar

    projects? And is the domestic

    manufacturing sector mature

    and competitive enough to

    build a 100% local supply

    chain?

Phase I of the NSM provided

a steep and invaluablelearning curve for the CSP

    industry in India. From the

    accuracy of DNI readings to

    the realities of the bidding

    mechanism, both the policy-

    makers and key players learnt

a great deal. Now, a hugely

    promising initiative led by

    the Solar Energy Corporation

    India (SECI) looks to bridge

    the gap between the NSMs

    Phase I and Phase II.

    The expressions of interest

    for two 50MW CSP pilot

projects are set to open in

    the coming months, with

    a $200 million investment

    from the Asian Development

    Bank already secured for the

    projects. Other exciting news

for the industry in 2014 is the

    commissioning of the 125MW

Reliance I plant, meaning thatIndia now has the largest

    operational Fresnel power

    plant in the world.

    Overall, the ability of Indian

    companies to reduce costs

    means that CSP has the

    potential to grow much faster

than it is. But again, questions

    arise: When will CSP become

    competitive with PV? And

what government reformsneed to be made to make CSP

    viable in India?
