WELCOME
On 5-6 October 2011 in Mumbai the GRI will bring together international investors and the leading indian developers and decision makers, which together are driving the real estate business in India today for a series of small and informal discussions.
Like with all GRI meetings, these discussions - each masterminded by leading industry players - encourage you and everybody to join in, to talk and to share.
It is a place where senior players meet each other and build friendships in a setting devoid of selling pressure.
Discussion chairs are not speakers. The job of discussion chairs is to make others talk, engage and connect. If connecting with industry peers on topics of mutual interest is useful to you, we would be delighted to welcome you to the India GRI.
See you in Mumbai.

AKSHAYA PATRAA majority of children from the lower strata of Indian society are missing out on the benefits of education, the key to significantly improving their quality of life. Poverty is the single largest factor that causes disparities in education. Hunger and existing socio-cultural barriers discourage parents from sending children to school, thereby encouraging drop outs.
The Akshaya Patra Foundation was founded in the year 2000 to address two of India’s most immediate challenges - hunger and education. The Foundation has gained formidable repute since then for being a child centric organisation with a clear focus.
The Foundation began by providing quality mid-day meals to 1500 children in five schools in Bangalore with the understanding that the meal would attract children to school, after which it is easier to retain them and focus on their holistic development. 10 years later, the Foundation has expanded its footprint to cover 1.2 million children in eight states across India.
The Akshaya Patra school meal programme pioneers an effective technology driven, high-performance and scalable kitchen model which cooks for a large number of children very quickly. It maintains consistency in terms of taste and nutritional value of food, thus making it the worlds largest and most cost effective NGO managed school meal programme.
What also started as a meal programme a decade back is today a movement with a focus on the holistic development of a child. It not only addresses hunger and education but also has needs basedinterventions such as health and life-skills.
