Incorporating 21st Century Technology into
Classroom Lessons Professional Development
Professional Development is focused of facilitating teachers so they gain the knowledge
to use the 21st century technology in their classrooms. Many teachers are not
acceptable to change and therefore scared to use anything new that they are not
familiar with. They fail to realize that incorporating technology in the classroom keeps
students motivated and engaged in the lessons. By integrating technology in class
lessons and aligning technology with student learning goals improves the learning
quality and shows growth as an end result.

General Information about This Professional Development This professional development will consist of four mini sessions that will introduce
Google applications to some teachers, for others it will serve as a refresher. The
following sessions are to further demonstrate and support teachers’ implementation of
21st century technology into the classrooms.
Target Audience: This will reach ninth through twelve grade high school teachers.
Session lengths Working with Google divided into four sessions:
• Session 1 Google Drive: 45 minutes
• Session 2 Google Classroom part 1: 55 minutes
• Session 3 Google Classroom part 2: 47 minutes
• Session 4: Google Slides: 62 minutes
Important Considerations Ideally, all participants will want a copy any handouts and or PowerPoints after the
session. It is important to make sure all teachers fill out the Google form at the end of
each session so the training material can be sent to their email during or after the
training session.
