FOREWORD

After all the hard work that has gone into preparing for this show, we truly hope you

will be entertained with a great performance by our dedicated P1 pupils. Drama is

more than just about putting up a good play. In the process of learning and

rehearsing, the children have developed a strong character and acquired important

speech and performance skills that will help boost their confidence and make them

better communicators. They have been given an outlet for creative expression that

exercises their imagination and this will help them in the classroom and beyond.

We have entwined speech and drama lessons with the theme of ocean preservation

and saving the animals. Throughout the lessons, children have explored this theme

and have inculcated it in their performances today. Exploring such a heavy topic

through drama has given these young ones a better understanding of these global

problems and a deeper appreciation for the environment and the need to preserve and

protect it.

We thank everyone in the school for their active support and tireless efforts, as well as

the parents of our students for their unwavering dedication. We hope you enjoy the

show!

SYNOPSES

King Of The Sea ~ 1H

The underwater kingdom needs a king. The mighty shark seems like a worthy ruler but is

ferocity what we look for in a king? The shrimp, octopus and other sea creatures try to

prove they are worthy of the throne but an unlikely leader emerges - he who makes the air

they breathe and ensures the survival of all underwater life. It cannot be denied who the

king of the sea should be.

Rescue The Rivers ~ 1G

The river is just one of the many habitats on Earth that is home to a variety of living

species, animals and plants alike. These habitats should be preserved to ensure the

survivability of all the living things that live in them. One day, a family of humans

decided to set up camp by the riverbank. Their reckless acts which include throwing trash

into the water and cutting down a tree brought suffering to the animals and their habitats.

If we humans are not mindful of what we do to the environment, who then will rescue the

rivers?

Care For Our World Today ~ 1E

What would we do if we could hear the moans and groans of our Earth in pain? Pain

caused by climate change. Pain caused by us. Would we change our ways? It is not too

late for us to listen to the cries of our Earth and respond to it. It is not too late to make a

change and reverse the damage we have caused. Let us learn how to care for our world

and let us start today.

Danny and The Ocean ~ 1F

Danny invited some friends to ride on his yacht to see the beautiful ocean up close. They

were happy at first, but they soon realised that Danny did not take very good care of the

ocean. He littered without a thought of the suffering of the animals under the sea. Like

many others, Danny felt that his actions would not affect the ocean much. Join him as he

learnt just how wrong he was.

I Am The River Flowing ~ 1B

We only have one planet, and it is our home. If we don’t care for it properly, then who

will? This beautiful Earth is home not only to human beings, but to plants and trees that

provide us air and shade, and to animals that give us food and help us in many other ways.

We need them to survive, and they need us to help take care of this Earth. Just like the

river flowing, life continues even after we are gone. We all share a future together, so we

must work together to ensure it is a bright one.

Preserve Our Earth ~ 1A

Sometimes, when we observe animals in nature, they look like they are dancing in a

graceful duet with their surroundings. Each and every one of us is uniquely and constantly

interacting with our Earth. We must ensure our interactions preserve and protect the Earth

instead of damaging it.

Our Home Underwater ~ 1D

No matter where we go and how far we have travelled, we always find the best

comfort in our own homes. There is indeed no place like home. This Earth is home to

ducks, beavers, frogs, dragonflies and dolphins, among many others. Let us listen to

how proud they are of their homes and how we can help to preserve and protect them.

Tail Of The Whale ~ 1C A group of children hitches a ride on a whale’s tail and goes on an amazing journey to

discover interesting creatures hiding beneath the enormous waves. They are in awe of all

that they see underwater. However, when the whale gets caught in a net of trash, the

children must summon their courage and work together with the other sea creatures to

save the endangered whale.
