Digital Manufacturing programme, in short DMFG, is the systematic approach adopted by AgustaWestlandfor the development of the
future AW products.
It is mainly applicable, but not limited to, Design
Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing
(including Supply Chain), Final Assembly and Quality.
It is strongly centered on unique and common 3D
geometrical definition of the parts (3D Digital Masters)
organized and shared throughout the product lifecycle by means of a
networked infrastructure.
The DMFG project born as principle and become real, through the passage from Drawing CAD to 3D Digital
Master, due to a new development of a “forma
mentis”...

WHAT DOES DMFG WAS FOR AW…
…Innovation, improvement or just ICT technological upgrading?
Innovation can be the application of better solutions that meet new requirements, inarticulate or existing needs. This is accomplished through more effective products, processes, services, technologies, or ideas that are readily available to markets, governments and society. The term innovation can be defined as something original and, as consequence, new that "breaks in to the company”.
Innovation differs from invention in that innovation refers to the use of a better and, as a result, novel idea or method, whereas invention refers more directly to the creation of the idea or method itself.Innovation differs from improvement in that innovation refers to the notion of doing something different rather than doing the same thing better.
Upgrading! not really innovative tools
Adoption of best practices and\ or international standards. Improvements!
Tailored methodologies and training, usually derived doing better the same things. Improvements!
but all of these, however, has produced a result that is original, breaking into the company with more effective processes and
technologies, with the achievements to have new
products faster and better in quality. Perhaps that was for AW
an innovation…

organizzazione.
