I did this because when I had finally added my cover lines, model credit, masthead and other basic things to it wouldn’t have left as much empty space which would have been useless, it also makes my front cover a lot more presentable.

First of all, I cropped the full picture of both participants to only one participant (Abbie). I did this because when I had finally added my cover lines, model credit, masthead and other basic things to it wouldn’t have left as much empty space which would have been useless, it also makes my front cover a lot more presentable.

I then used a magic wand to remove areas which were hard to get around without making a mistake; this made the process of getting the background quicker and easier.

I then used the polygonal lasso tool to select the rest of the background. I then just deleted it to make the back ground all white and make it look a bit more professional for my front cover.

I then used the fill tool to make the whole background a soft grey colour as I thought using grey colours would work well with the genre of magazine I wanted. I also wanted to use quite cold colours such as grey, blues and black.
