On my introductory double page spread, the key signifier is a large image of my artist. I have used photoshop to edit this image in order to achieve the look I have created. I used the magnetic lasso tool and the eraser with a blurred edge in order to softly crop this image. Likewise, I have flipped it round so that he is facing the opposite direction.
The same technique has been used to edit the key signifier on my magazine front cover; I have cropped out the background and the shadow, but in this scenario, only with the eraser tool as the magnetic lasso created a jagged edge and ruined the quality of the image. This manipulation has made it so that I can use this picture on the cover of my magazine and retain high definition.
