LOCAL MATTERS.Arrested roit Disloyalty.?William

: Gunn, Lewis Warner, David Childress, and Mrs. Ann Pcrrin, were arrested yes-terday by the Confederate States detec-

-1 tarns, and committed to Castle Thunder,on the charge of aiding and abetting inthe escape to the Yankees of Sarah, aulavo of Mrs. Mayo, and another slavewoman. Upon li turn's arrest, he con-fessed that himself a-nd CJhildress hadcarried off two servants, and also ad-mitted that theyhad been paid a consi-deration for so"doing; that Mrs. l'errin,at whose house Childress resides, hadreceived six silver table spoons fromMrs. Mayo's girl, and that Mrs. AnnPcrrin had gotten himself and Childresstocarry Sarah off Subsequently to herarrest Mrs. Pcrrin admitted that shehad received the spoons and a silk dressfrom the two servant girls who had beenarrested.

Mrs. Mayo, upon been informed of thearrest of theparties and recovery of thegoods, fully identified the spoons as herproperty.

Robdery.?On Thursday morning, Mr,Samuel Drinkard, who had just arrivedin the city on the Danville train, loft atthe depot here a box containing upwardsof five thousand dollars1worth ofcoun-try produce, while lie proceeded to thehouse of a relative in the upper end ofthe city to get his breakfast. When hereturned to the depot, although he hadnotbeen absent more than two hours, the box Cnd contents were gone. Uponinquiry, he ascertained that, soon afterhe left the train, the box was called forby some unknown person, who repre-sented that lie had been authorized byMr. Drinkard to take it awa}*. No suchauthority had been given, nor has any-thing been heard of the box since.

A Dry Goods T'hef.?James E Ro-binson, a young white man, dressed insoldiers' clothes, wearing an ample mili-tary overcoat, was arrested yesterdayafternoon and committed to the upperstation-house by Chief-of Police Reuben

visit, preparations having pre-viously been made for his arrest, he wasarrested by the officers above named.?Enveloped under his overcoatwere foundthe goods above mentioned. Robinsonis the same person who was admitted tobail by the Mayor, a few days since, toanswer indictment by the Grand Jury,of\u2666.he Hustings Court for" the offence ofstealing a piece of cassimere from Messrs."Beers & Spillman. The mode of stealing the goodsfrom Chiles <fc Chenery wasidentically the same as that practicedupon Beers & Spillman?that is, but-toning up his plunder under an over-coat, while the attention of the occu-pants of the store was turned in an-other direction.
