IHC Hytop, part of IHC Merwede, ISO 9001:2000 certi fi ed, brand independent and specializes in complete hydraulic systems, power packs, winches and controls for all conceivable applicati -ons in the dredging, shipbuilding, off shore, petrochemical and heavy (lift ing) industry. Our project organizati on with over 70 experienced professionals has the capacity to deliver complete, large scale installati ons, including electronic controls.

The experience and know-how are available within our own organizati on to execute projects requiring basic & detailed engineering, planning, producti on, hydraulic piping and on-site commissioning acti viti es. Producti on and Quality

IHC Hytop has well-equipped workshops for the assembly of hydraulic systems and winch constructi ons. The clean assembly work is separated from the constructi on and repair department.Our objecti ve is to support our organisati on with a certi fi ed quality management system in accordance with standards of ISO 9001:2000 standards. All systems and equipment we supply will be in-house tested even when not required. IHC Hytop has a state of the art testi ng facility having suffi cient capacity to test the largest systems. Our excellent producti on facility, the extensive quality system and test programme guarantees top quality hydraulic system soluti ons.

Commissioning and Services Our principle is to deliver all system soluti ons in good working order including functi onal inspecti on of electric, hydraulic and me-chanical performance. Prior start-up each system has been tested under full load and setti ngs are checked in conformity with the specs. Each system is delivered with manuals and instructi ons, and also with a possible training. The IHC Hytop Service Team is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, provide service work anywhere in the world on systems supp-lied by any manufacturer. Our Service Team maintains hydraulic systems from all manufacturers. Opti ons include a service contract, regular inspecti ons, full oil analysis and conditi on monitoring. We can off er a service agreement tailored to your needs. Besides professional repair and maintenance work, the Service Team also provides sensible advice and full reports. Renovati on and modifi cati on of old, outdated or damaged systems and components give them a new lease of life.

HSE Management

During all our business acti viti es we have the responsibility to protect our environment and the safety of our personnel as well as local habitants and our customers’ personnel. IHC Hytop conducts a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) culture with room for conti nuous improvement of awareness, noti on off - and our performances within this area. Electro-hydraulic Power Packs

Among others IHC Hytop designs and manufactures electrical-driven hydraulic power packs. Our systems with installed power from a few kW ti ll 2 MW and up are all being designed according customer specifi cati on and/or classifi cati on requirements. Power packs with or without hydraulic reservoirs, control manifolds, fi ltrati on systems, local control panels e.g., can be delivered skid mounted or completely containerized; even when used in hazardous area.

Diesel-hydraulic Power Packs

When electric power is not available our diesel-driven hydraulic power packs off er a proper alternati ve to electro hydraulic ones. Both one-off and serial producti on of diesel power packs for marine and zone 1 hazardous area applicati on are within our experti se. IHC Hytop’s custom built diesel power packs are available in a variety of confi gurati ons; permanently skid mounted, or completely self-contained (off shore certi fi ed) portable units. Besides high quality, reliability, easy accessibility and low maintenance cost, sound att enuati on is a factor in our unit design.

Hydraulic operated Winches

Through the years we have built up a lot of experience by supplying and maintaining winches onboard dredging vessels demanding extreme long lifeti mes, totally enclo-sed drive systems, constant tension, variable speeds etc. This gained experience is used to build up a nice track-record for applicati ons in the heavy lift ing and off shore oil & gas industry as well.

IHC Hytop winches are available in standardised versions having 2.5 - 50mT line-pull, and custom made versions ti ll 500mT line-pull and up. Horizontal or verti cal pulling directi on, with or without spooling device, fl at drums or (LEBUS) grooved drums, with or without control consoles and wire ropes, everything is possible!

Hydraulic Cylinders

Special high quality hydraulic cylinders with 40-1,000 mm bore, up to 10,000 mm stroke and maximum 700 bar supply pressure is one of our specialti es as well. Telescopic executi on, rods with chrome/nickel or ce-ramic coati ngs and integrated positi on measuring, certi fi ed materials and welding or any design accor-ding certi fying authoriti es (DNV, ABS, etc.) are our “standard”.

Together with IHC Vremac Cylinders B.V., more than 40 years of experience in design of and maintaining such cylinders, applied in the harshest environments, enables us to transform customer requirements in to fi t-for-purpose cylinder specifi cati ons.

ESD Valve Automati on

For the petrochemical industry IHC Hytop is well known as supplier of Emergency Shut Down (ESD) valve automati on systems, consisti ng of:

- Fire safe shut off valves (ball, gate, globe, etc.)- Hydraulic operated actuators (located in fi re resistant casing)- Local, manual and remote operated control cabinets- Electro-hydraulic power pack, EEx, with accumulator back-up

The systems (self contained units as well) are designed, engineered and build according the worldwide approved Shell DEP specifi cati ons.

IHC Hytop designs, builds and programmes its own electronic control systems for safe and hazar-dous area (EEx) applicati ons. Since we have extensive knowledge of both manifold and electronic control, you can expect unbiased advice. The result is a system which operates smoothly, without control confl icts.

Components we supply include PLC’s, bus systems, sensors, operati ng consoles, switch boxes and control soft ware; all complete and fi t for purpose. You can expect inventi ve and innovati ve control soluti ons, which brings the implementati on of imaginati ve hydraulic applicati ons within reach.

Manifolds

For over 25 years IHC Hytop’s professionals provide in-house design, assembly and testi ng for a great variety of manifolds. Design will be carried out by the use of the latest advanced 3-D soft ware. Therefore all customer requirements and preferen-ces can be incorporated easily and effi ciently. By using DIN and CETOP connecti on surfaces and cartridges the use of universal components can be guaranteed. During assembly and testi ng stage the compo-nents will be adjusted and set to required values. IHC Hytop can manufacture manifolds for serial or one-off producti on in all feasi-ble sizes and for a great variety of applicati ons.

Hydraulic Piping

Projects always require interconnecti ng hydraulic piping systems. IHC Hytop can off er complete systems with required piping ma-terial, bracketi ng, full engineering, site-constructi on supervision and obtains certi fi cati on for the piping. Our piping systems can be fi tt ed with connecti ons of any size and type, from mechanical distorti on to welded fl anges or cones. The pipelines and connecti ons are produced in steel, stainless steel or as fl exible hoses. All our systems are tested to 1.5 ti mes the operati ng pressure and will be cleaned in accordance with NAS/ISO standards. Prefabricated piping, complete with instructi ons for installati on by third parti es can be delivered as well.

IHC Hytop is a member of the IHC Merwede group formally known as IHC Holland Merwede. The IHC Merwede units have been grouped together in three divisions: Dredging & Mining, Off shore & Marine, and the group of sector-related products and services. Because of the technological experti se it brings together, this division is now known as Technology & Services.

We want to provide conti nuity for our stakeholders. As a technological concern, we facilitate the life cycle of our clients’ capital as-sets. Research & Development

Innovati on takes place within IHC Merwede at three diff erent levels. In the various business units, specialists work every day on im-proving and expanding their product knowledge and to incorporate this into the organisati on. At a system level, engineers combine and integrate the systems where this is possible and relevant. This inspires them to build new and unique pieces of equipment. As a company that strives to provide conti nuity to its customers through integrated long-term soluti ons, IHC Merwede focuses on in-novati ve services such as life cycle support.IHC Merwede spends about 3 to 4 % of its turnover to innovati on. The in-house research insti tute MTI plays an important role in the Research & Development policy. MTI’s concentrati on of dredging and alluvial mining knowledge is unparalleled in the world.Every day, the scienti sts at MTI work on research topics related to for instance the behaviour of various types of soil inside a dredge pump or the eff ect of the hull shape on energy use during sailing every day. But they will also test new designs or calculate the wear and tear of parts.

Work in progress

Work in progress of by the end of September 2007 had a value of approximately € 1.3 Billion. In additi on to that the group received a lett er of intent worth 450 million euros (esti mati on of client) for 3 trailing sucti on hopper dredgers. For the off shore the order portf olio includes a Heavy Lift Vessel and 6 other off shore vessels; for the dredging 7 trailing sucti on hopper dredgers and 4 custom-built sucti on dredgers.
