On the back of the Budweiser summer app, which offered consumers a lower priced beer when the weather gets hotter, Murphy’s have decided to take a realistic approach and are offering consumers a free pint of stout when it rains, through a smartphone app.

Rather than pretend that we get beautiful sunshine, Murphys wanted to boost people’s spirits and make summer a little more bearable.

The app tells you when Met Eireann predict some rain in Cork, and allows you to claim your free pint in your local pub. However, knowing how much it rains in Ireland, there are a limited number of free pints on offer!

CampingGoogle Nexus 7

Google debuts it`s first commercial ad for the much anticipated Google Nexus 7 Tablet, the commercial, entitled Camping, features a father and his son enjoying the great outdoors while using the tablet to explore.

Airplane SafetyDurex

Durex in Poland pulled a funny stunt recently on board a flight. They used the air hostesses to demonstrate how to use a condom, in lieu of pre-flight safety instructions.

Cue some shocked passengers, most of whom found it very funny, especially when they were wished a safe flight from Durex!

Beer ChaseCarlton’s Draught

Running with the idea that nothing can separate a man from his beer, Carlton Draught ‘’Beer Chase’’ ad features a high-octane car chase , in which a band of hapless, beer-loving bank robbers flee from a bumbling group of cops, while holding onto their glasses of beer constantly in hand.

Touted by some as one of the best beer ads of 2012.

Volkswagen launched its range of Blue Motion cars, which are designed to reduce fuel consumption and harmful emissions. They wanted to build brand awareness, whilst also promoting their eco-conscious behaviour.

Volkswagen introduced ‘blue label’, a small print ad that easily allowed people to recycle their magazines. The labels were essentially inserts that doubled up as pre-paid postage stickers.

Once finished with the magazine, readers were presented with the opportunity to post it to a recycling plant for free.

A nice simple way to communicate a eco-friendly message!
