The Government of Canada and most provincial and regional governments work in partnership to

deliver federal and provincial student loan and grant programs. Each student needs to apply to his/her

province of residence. When the loan application is being assessed, the student is evaluated for loans

on both levels – provincial and national.

UNITED STATES

US Federal Loans (Direct Loans) (Loan / MBA / American)

You must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Direct Loans are low-interest loans for students and

parents to help pay for the cost of a student’s education after high school. The lender is the U.S.

Department of Education (the Department), though the organization you deal with, your loan servicer,

can be a private business.

Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst Dienst (DAAD) (Scholarship / MBA / EMBA /German)

The German Academic Exchange Service promotes international relations between universities and

other higher education institutions and provides information on possible sources of funding.

The DAAD scholarship’s official policy is that funds are for those who graduated from university less than

three years ago. However, they make exceptions. You will need to write an additional essay on why you are

considering an MBA after having graduated x years ago. The scholarship consists of a fixed amount along

with monthly payments and an accident and civil liability insurance policy for the duration of the program.

CJSC AVESA is a partner of the Russian state company the Agency for Housing Mortgage Lending

(AHML). Together with the AHML, in 2011, AVESA launched an educational loan program for

SWEDEN

Hans Werthen-Stipendier inom technik-industri-ekonomi (Scholarship / MBA / Swedish)

The Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences established these grants in 1990: between two and

four grants are awarded each year. MBA students receive between SEK 100,000 and 250,000. Applicants

must be between 25 and 35 and be working or have some academic or professional links to technological

or corporate fields. Applications should be presented between August 15 and November 15. The grant

awards are made in mid-February (meaning that students have no idea whether they will receive a grant

when they begin the program).
