How To Identify SEISMIC® Products

Grade Markings

Our unique bar markings allow users to quickly identify if their product is a Pacific Steel SEISMIC® grade 300E or 500E product:

• Deformed 500E products have ‘500E’ rolled into the bar, two longitudinal ribs and a missing transverse rib before the SEISMIC® brand

• Plain 500E products have a dot and two dashes rolled into the bar

• Deformed 300E products have ‘300E’ rolled into the bar along and two longitudinal ribs before the SEISMIC® brand

• Plain 300E products have two dots rolled into the bar

Our bar markings assist builders, specifiers and inspectors in identifying our products as being New Zealand made product, produced by Pacific Steel (NZ) Ltd to AS/NZS 4671. To ensure all the steel on your site is made by Pacific Steel, to our local standards, be sure to look for either our SEISMIC® brand or the Dot/Dash combinations.

Mill Markings

All SEISMIC® Grade 500E and Grade 300E products by Pacific Steel are rolled with our unique mill bar markings to assist in identification on site:

• Deformed bars or coils have our product brand, ‘SEISMIC’, rolled into the bar surface

• Plain bars/coils (as typically used by mesh manufacturers) have either 2 Dots, or a Dot and 2 Dashes
