Nadu Agricultural University is the Nodal *fficer implemented the TNAU omponents of TN+

IAMWA!M "ro#ect& The pro#ect activities ,ere carried out in - su + asins ("hase I) ./ su +

asins ("hase II) 01 su + asins ("hase III) and 1 su + asins ("hase I2) (ANN34U!3 I and

ANN34U!3 II)&

Objectives of TNAU Wor%ing to,ards large scale adoption of specific technologies such as 5!I and improved

production technologies in maize oilseeds pulses and cotton& 6arge scale adoption of "recision farming in agriculture and horticulture crops

in the su asin commands&

"opularization of crop diversification options in the crops li%e maize pulses and

sunflo,er&

"romotion of 5eed 2illage oncept (52 ) to produce and supply 7uality seeds and

seedlings for diversified agricultural practices&

"romotion of organic farming concept in su + asin villages&

$ased on the e8isting cropping system in each su asin activities ,ere formulated in

'"! ('etailed "ro#ect !eport) in convergence ,ith line departments as pro#ect mode and

mission mode ,ith the prime focus on ,ater conservation& 5ystem of !ice Intensification (5!I)

and "recision 9arming ("9) ,ere the ma#or components demonstrated in all the su asins in the

conte8t of ,ater saving and increased land and ,ater productivity& Introduction of pulses in

irrigated condition and rice fallo, situation ,as also in demonstrated largely in the su asin&

Improved "roduction Technologies (I"T) ,ere also introduced in less ,ater consuming crops

li%e maize sunflo,er cotton and groundnut& Innovative programmes li%e 5ustaina le 5ugarcane
