Teacher Task

• After reading Icky Bug Numbers you are going to work with numbers with a partner.

• Review the numbers in the Introduction by telling your partner what number it is and writing them in order on your paper.

• Next, you will go to Funschool to play a counting game.• Then you will become a scientist and an artist.• As a scientist you will research bugs to find your favorite.• As an artist you will choose a number and draw the

number and that many of your bug to create a book page.

Teacher Process

1. Work with 2 students at the computer.2. Show the students the Introduction screen. Ask the

students to identify the numbers that are on the computer screen. Ask them to continue counting, if possible.

3. Using the pencil and blank paper, have the students write those numbers in numerical order.

4. Have each partner “quiz” the other by saying a number and having their partner write it down.

5. Go to the website Funschool and play the Fishin’ Mission game.

6. Have the students take on the role of Scientist and Artist to research bugs and create their page for the class book.
