Day 2 Arrive in Reykjavik, IcelandWelcome to Reykjavik! At 6 pm, meet your Tour Director and traveling companions for a welcome dinner at your hotel. (D)
Day 3 Reykjavik–Hellisheiðavirkjun–Geysir–Gullfoss–Thingvellir–BorgarnesAfter an orientation drive of prettyReykjavik, enjoy an interesting visit tothe geothermal heat and electric POWERSTATION in Hellisheiðavirkjun. Next, stop at the hot springs at Geysir for a real treat: meet the chef of the Geysir restaurant and walk with him to the geothermal areas.

Local Favorite Taste freshly baked bread,which is cooked using the heat from thehot-springs, with Icelandic butter, boiledeggs and herring, and a glass of geysirschnapps, served at freezing point. Marvelat the mighty Gullfoss waterfall and stopin Thingvellir, a geological paradise. Here,you will walk through the rift valley thatmarks the separation between the NorthAmerican and European tectonic plates.Continue to your hotel in Borgarnes. (B,D)

Day 5 Akureyri–Goðafoss–Lake Mývatn–Dettifoss–EgilsstaðirDuring your orientation of the capital ofnorthern Iceland, hear about the city’shistory after it was established as a tradingcenter in 1602. Visit the BOTANICALGARDEN, featuring specimens of almostall native Icelandic plants. Then, admireGoðafoss, known as the “Waterfall of theGods.” Enjoy a scenic drive to the lovelyblue Lake Mývatn, teeming with bird life in one of Iceland’s prettiest areas, and known for geothermal activity and producingcolored deposits. Before arriving inEgilsstaðir, take in all the picturesque sights Höfn has to offer, including the breathtaking views of Europe’s largest glacier, Vatnajökull. (B, D)
Day 3-4 Day 5
Iceland is a country known for its natural wonders: glaciers, active volcanoes, roaring rivers, majestic waterfalls, and glistening lakes. Scenic highlights include colossal Gullfoss waterfall and Goðafoss, known as the “Waterfall of the Gods”. Take pictures at Dettifoss, the most powerful waterfall in Europe. Drive by Eyjafjallajökull volcano and through the natural beauty found in Skaftafell national park. Enjoy a picturesque visit to the gorgeous Lake Mývatn, structured with all of its volcanic craters. Also witness how Europe’s largest glacier, Vatnajökull, builds its beautiful icebergs in nearby Lake Jökulsárlón.
In Thingvellir, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, journey through the rift valley that separates the tectonic plates of North America and Europe. In Geysir, learn from a Geysir restaurant chef while you taste the local bread freshly baked using heat from the hot springs. We also offer a boat cruise to see whales in their natural habitat! These are just a few of the many highlights you can expect from this memorable Iceland tour.

Day 6 Egilsstaðir–HöfnFollow the eastern coast, where the firstIrish missionaries settled some 200 yearsago, and arrive in Höfn. The town lies near a fjord named Hornafjörður. This harbour town, the second largest in the south-eastern part of Iceland, gives scenic views of Vatnajökull. (B,D)
Day 7 Höfn–Lake Jökulsárlón–Skaftafell–VikPrepare for the highlight of the day: Stopat Lake Jökulsárlón, where some of themost spectacular scenes of the JamesBond movie Die Another Day werefilmed. Watch how the largest glacier inEurope, Vatnajökull, flows into the lake,forming icebergs. An exciting optional
boat trip through the icebergs is available.Then, drive through the national park atSkaftafell to Vik, the southernmost villagein Iceland. (B,D)
Day 8 Vik–Eyjafjallajökull–ReykjavikDrive by the Eyjafjallajökull volcano, wellknown for the eruption that generated themassive ash cloud in 2010, on your wayback to Reykjavik. This afternoon you maywish to join an optional excursion to theBlue Lagoon, and tonight, a special fare-well dinner awaits you at one of Reykjavik’s fine restaurants to celebrate the success of your Icelandic Adventure.
