BUDGET (Constitution ARTILE NO-112)

The union Budget 2015-16 presented by finance Minister Arun Jaitley, on 28th February in Parliament

(Loksabha).

The total budget for 2015-16 is budgeted at 17,77,477 out of which

Corporate tax decreased from 30% to 25% for four (4)years.

Proposes to increase service tax rate and education cess to 14 per cent from 12.36 per cent implemented

from 1/06/2015

Government defers rollout of anti-tax avoidance rules GAAR by two years GAAR to apply prospectively

from April 1, 2017

Expects to implement goods and services tax GST by April 2016.

Wealth tax has been abolished

PAN card is mandatory on purchase of more than Rs.1,00,000.

Revenue deficit seen at 2.8 per cent of GDP.

Transport allowance increased from Rs.800 to Rs.1600 per month.

EDUCATION

IIT in Karnataka, While, the Indian School of Mines (IMS) in Dhanbad, Jharkhand will be converted into

IIT.

2 more IIMs in Jammu and Kashmir and Andhra Pradesh.

New projects 5 more AIIMSs in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh,

Bihar and Assam.

Post-Graduation institutes of Horticulture in Amritsar, Punjab.

University of Disability Studies will be established in Kerala.

In Arunachal Pradesh, Centre of film production, animation and gaming will come up.

OTHERS

Forward Markets Commission (FMC) will be merged with the Securities and Exchange Board of India

(SEBI).

Under SARFAESI Act 2002, NBFCs registered with the RBI having asset size of Rs 500 crore and above

to be considered as financial institution for mid-corporate businesses and fund SME.

To encourage first generation SC/ST entrepreneurs, MUDRA bank will provide finance with capital of

Rs.20,000 corpus. Under SIDBI for a loan amount of 50000 to 10,00,000

Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) will be further be expanded to 10.3 crore from 1 crore.

9,000 crore unclaimed funds in PPF/EPF will be used for Senior Citizens Fund.

Visa on Arrival (VoA) facility to be increased for 150 countries from present 43 countries.

GDP growth seen at between 8 per cent and 8.5 per cent y.

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu has presented the Rail Budget on 26th February 2015.
