Aging Assets/Aging WorkforceAfter 100 years of rapid demographic change, most bets are off. Baby boomers will be retiring in their millions in the next few years – but they’re largely fitter and mentally younger than previous generations. What’s more, many of them are extremely keen to carry on working – but in a new way. Business and government are struggling to cope with the profound implications of this change. Attitudes, business models, pensions and legislation are all out of step with this new fact of life. When you consider that most people will enjoy around 20 years of life after they become eligible to retire, it’s clear the whole concept of retirement needs to be redefined.

Post Conference Seminars

IBM Maximo Asset Management: Maintaining Faster, Stronger & Smarter Assets– Al Crain, Project Manager, IBM GBS

• Technology advances. Assets become faster, stronger, and smarter. Maintenance techniques must adjust to keep up. Maintenance Best Practices using Maximo for Asset Management reviews common shortcomings found within maintenance organizations and strategies that will encourage correcting those shortcomings. Additionally, this program will provide insight into the key types of maintenance best practices techniques being utilized by a variety of industries including Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), and applying Six-Sigma. The in-depth discussion will identify how Maximo may be applied to put these techniques into practice. Though Maximo capabilities may be brought into discussion, the course is not an end-user technical Maximo course, but rather offers philosophical dialogue about how to use Maximo to better achieve desired maintenance goals and business process improvement.

• The course is intended for: Plant Executives, Maintenance Manager, Operational Managers, IT Managers and Analysts, and Plant and Facility Technicians

16

Post Conference Seminar

Configuring Maximo 6 to Support Routine and Outage Maintenance– Bill Olsen, MUWG Program Manager

The seminar will cover how to get the most out of Maximo when configuring value lists, status for work type, work order status, location/asset relationships and work order priorities. Another key topic will be the establishment of Planning and Scheduling metrics that validate the planning and scheduling improvements.

• The course is intended for: Outage Managers, Work Control Managers, Maintenance Managers, and Planning and Scheduling Technicians. The training seminar is only open to Maximo Utility Working Group members
