I Would Put My Hammock Here… One of my favorite places in the world is Laguna Beach. I started going there in High School and have been in love since. I love the atmosphere, the art, the ocean and the food. My family goes at least once a month and my wife and I go for weekend stays. I have fantasies about living there. Being able to stroll down the beach at my leisure, take up paddle surfing, and enjoy my life living the dream. Then reality sets in. How could we pack up all of our stuff and move knowing we have our lives here? We have children in school, we have a great church, and our work is here. Our heart and desires may be there, but it is not obtainable. When the Israelites left Egypt, they wondered the desert for forty years and God was with them. After they got established, David felt that God did not have a home, so his son Solomon built a temple for the Lord. This temple was to be a permanent place for God. God never desired an earthly home; all He ever wanted was to a have a home in the hearts of his people. Paul would remind the church of Ephesus of this in Ephesians 3:17 "that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love…” We all have places on this earth that we fantasize about living at. We visit these places and dream about how life would be. God feels the same way about us. He comes and visits us, helping and showing His grace in our lives. In return He wants to establish His home in us. It's an amazing thought to think that God has the same desire that we do, for a place to visit or call home. The difference is, He is obtainable. God is never out of reach for us. Nathan Garza
