2. Objectives:

Creativity of students applied to solve development

problems of our people and State through Science and

Technology.

Enrich collegiate education through finding solutions to

real life problems.

Improve understanding and develop methodology of

solving complex issues.

Annual Seminar and Exhibition of Student Project

Programme – 40th

series will be held at NMAM Institute of

Technology, Nitte during August 2017.

7. Outcome of the

programme:

Engineering students will exhibit the models/exhibits

and make presentation on project findings.

Few working models/exhibits will be selected for the

prizes and encouraged to product development and

registration for IPR.

Project proposals will be invited for the 41st series of

SPP.

2. Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) Cell Activities

1. Name of the

activity:

Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) Cell Activities

2. Objectives:

Build awareness on Rainwater Harvesting amongst target

groups

Awareness building among school and college children

Documentation and information dissemination on print and

electronic media

Development activities on RWH, ground water recharge and

used water recycling

Demonstration of cost effective and sustainable methods of

Rainwater Harvesting and Ground Water Recharge in the

local context through ULBs and PR Institutions

Provide technical support in design, plan and execution of

RWH projects

3. Time Limit: 12 months, April 2017 to March 2018

4. Budget Allocated: Rs. 8.00 lakhs

5. Targeted

Beneficiaries:

Skill development programme to train Architects, Engineers and

Plumbing contractors for hands on training and rainwater harvesting

project planning are being conducted every month. Since inception 71

training programmes are conducted till date and around 1,800 trained

personals are offering their services. RWH App is developed with the

support of UNESCO by KSCST for web and Mobile users. Blog

"RainManSpeaks from Bengaluru" is in the web since April 1st 2014

and has published 81 posts. The reach as of February 2017 is over

52,000 and in over 20 countries. Quiz and Debate programs are

organized to build awareness among students and faculty of schools

and colleges. Over sixty five Quiz and Debate programs were

conducted.

Since November 2005 RWH Cell has provided technical support

for planning rainwater harvesting systems in over 300

institutions (Public and private sector, Multinationals and

Generation of new technologies

2. Objectives:

To support informed decision-making at

macro/micro level using spatial data technologies.

Collect, Collate and organise spatial database in

digital form at district level to enable planners and

administrators for easy access of data/information.

Sensitisation and awareness among users in the

utility and benefits of spatial data technologies by

organising training programs.

Linkage with users at different levels

Provide S & T inputs for framing policies related to

spatial data technologies.

1. Name of the activity: Patent Information Centre.

Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Awareness Program

2. Objectives:

To create awareness on IPR and to enable Patent Searches

and to guide the inventors in respect of Patenting their

Inventions and on other IPR Spectrum. Also initiate to

establish IP Cells at Engineering Institutions ,Universities

,R&D Centres.

3. Time Limit: For the period from April 2017 to March 2018

4. Budget Allocated: Rs. 3.00 lakhs

5. Targeted

Beneficiaries:

Students and faculty members of Engineering Institutions,

Universities and also Medium and Small Scale

Entrepreneurs (MSMEs) and R&D Institutions.

2. Objectives:

To popularize Science among rural students

Generation of enthusiasm of creative future in

Science

To promote active involvement of rural students

and teachers in science related activities

To enhance interaction between scientists and rural

students

5. Targeted Beneficiaries: 100 High School Students and 20 faculty members

from the VL high schools established by KSCST with

the support of KSTePS, DST GoK.

Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum,

Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium, Indira Gandhi Musical

Fountain, ISRO Satellite Centre and Other R&D

Institutions will be visited.

To cultivate willingness to take challenges and field

Adjusting the learning for learners of different

abilities.

To initiate the teachers to teach quality earth

science/ geography and its application in day to

day activities

To inspire teachers to take study in the field of

earth science related topics.

To demonstrate Earth system based learning using

school yard as a learning resource.

2. Objectives: Council has been active in implementing programs of scientific

nature aimed at betterment of society and also has been engaging

itself in organising various activities like - Training programmes,

workshops, etc., in addition to the implementation of projects and

programs have been arranged by the Council. Council has also

established a Multi-media Studio cum Video Conferencing

Centre at the Council (KSCST library building). This facility is

being used

(i) to stream and record lectures of eminent scientists for access

by students in schools / colleges all over the state and beyond

(ii) For interactive meets

(iii) Video conferencing

(iv) for interim evaluation of Student Project Programme projects

in different nodal centres / institutions and interaction with
