No further environmental assessaent field activity is anticiapted . During October, work continued on the analysis of bioloaic data to be used in the Environmental Endanaeraent Assessaent . This work will continue during Noveaber.

The PRP's have responded to EPA/DIP second - round photoar....tric co..ents . Pursuant to the aare...nt between the aaencies and the PRPs, further co..ents will be addressed in the diacuaaion of this taak in the RI report.

Data reduction and analysis will continue through the development of the RI Report . During the fourth quarter of 1987, emphasis will be placed on data to be used in the Endanser.ent Assessment and the RI r • port .

TASK 19 • RI REPORT

Vith the finalization of Taak 16 , work can co..ence on the Remedial Investigation Report . Work on this report will proceed up until ita scheduled submission date .

To co.ply with the Septe.ber 29, 1987, EPA request for a data valedation report, a letter wu aent to the reaulaton wrifying that data reduction, validation and reporting were acco.pliahed in accordance with the speclflcatlona for this work found in the Project Operations Plan . In a letter dated October 21, 1987, the EPA rejected thia aub.iasion u being inadequate and required that further infor.ation be aubaitted by October 30, 1917.

In an October 29th phone conaenatlon between I. C. Jordan and the IPA it waa decided that laboratory Cue Su..ary Narratives would be aubaitted to coaply with the requir...nt for data validation. These narrative• were aent to the reaulators on OctOber 30, 1987.

APPENDIX E

On October 5, 1987 the PRPs submitted a scrap removal program summary to the reculators. This completed compliance with the submission requireaents of the Removal Iapleaentation Work Plan.

On October 15, 1987 the PRPs sub•itted a proposal for additional soil sampling in areas where PCB contamination was doscovered during the scrap re.oval operation . An October 30 sampling date vas proposed. EPA and DEP approved the proposal in telephone conservations to Central Kaine Power Company on October 26th . Soil sampling co...nced and was completed on October 30th .

Part of the Scrap Removal Su.aary was a proposal for additional site fencing . The schedule for this effort will be developed once the results fro• the

: additional soil sa.plina have been received and the regulators approve the location of the fence.
