Oracle 19c - Oracle’s Recommended Roadmap

• Oracle is currently recommending that customers upgrade their databases to Oracle Database 19c

• 19c is the terminal release of Oracle Database 12c Release 2

• 19c is the long-term support or extended support will only be offered on this version

• Customers are still hesitant

• At this time, 19c is still new

• Viscosity does not recommend making this jump yet to our customers

• If you are currently running 11.2.0.4, 12.2.0.1, or 18c, please upgrade to 19c before the error correction grace period

expires

• Extended support will not be available for 12.2.0.1or 18c releases.

• Oracle Database 19c will have premier support up to March 31, 2023.

• Extended support will be provided until March 31, 2026.

• As a reference, always check MOS Note 742060.1 for the latest schedule
