The band began its' marching season two weeks before school started with a week of intensive training at camp for the f reshmen. The second week veteran band members joined them for yet another week of practice.

The band worked hard rehearsing and at building spirit in preparation for the first home football game. When they put on an outstanding show and received a standing ovation.

Later in the season the band was invited to a competition in St. Johns. They did very well and learned much from the other bands there. The band continued their excellence through the rest of the season.

In November the band changed from their flashy marching uniforms to their tuxes and long skirts. The concert season was equally successful. The " I " rating at Districts at Saginaw Arthur Hill was well earned. They brought home an "overall rating" of 2 at state but received a " I " in sight reading. Individual band members did well in district and state solo ensemble festivals.

The Jazz Band, also known as "The Pack", performed at a variety of places this year. They hosted the area jazz festival, attended the 10th annual CMU Jazz Festival, played at the presentation of the "Excellence in Teaching Awards" and joined the junior high Jazz Band in their spring concert.

The Pep Band was an elite group of the most spirited people in the band. They brought life to the basketball games and pep assemblies.

Full of spirit, the Pep Band wins the pep stick at this assembly.

Before a football game, freshmen Allen Hunt and Joe Courtright, and sophomore Dave Bettisworth fire up the crowd by playing the "Fanfare".
