HUME CITY COUNCIL KEVIN DELAINE RESERVE COMMUNITY UPDATE In August and September 2017 Council invited feedback from the community on their ideas for improvements to Kevin DeLaine Reserve, Dallas. Thank you to everyone who shared their ideas and gave feedback through the surveys, online and at the pop up sessions. Over 90 people shared their ideas. The improvements that were most important to participants were: • new park furniture • fencing • landscaping and shady trees The two existing playspaces will be combined in a new central location. The most commonly requested activities for the new playspace were: • swings • slides • balancing items • climbing items • sensory items A concept plan, based on community feedback, can be found inside this flyer. 6. Replace existing reserve fencing withnew black 1.2m high timber posts andblack chain mesh fencing.

7. Upgrade park entry points from AntwerpStreet with new planting.

8. Realign the existing path connection toBlair Street to enable new tree plantingadjoining the vacant lot.

9. Extend a new 2.5m wide concreteshared path from the new playgroundthrough to Phillip Street.

10. Resurface existing basketball half court,repaint the rebound wall and applyanti-graffiti coating.

11. New seating area overlookingthe half court.

12. New seats for optimal shade and parkviewing.

13. Remove tap and install new drinkingfountain.
