How To Use JingA free screen recording/capturing software
Type Jing in Google
Click: www.techsmith.com/jing.html
Click: FREE DOWNLOAD
Click: Windows Download
If you use a chrome browser
Jing downloads at the bottom left of your window
If you use an internet explorer browser
Jing downloads at the bottom right of your window
If you use a Firefox browser
Jing downloads from the upper right toolbar
Downloading Jing
Double click the file after downloading
Check ‘I accept the fine print’ then click Install
Jing being installed
Click Finish
Click ‘Play’ for basic information about Jing
To create your Jing account, click ‘Get Started’
Fill in the form then click ‘Create’
Jing automatically places itself on your screen
Mouse over Jing - the sun
To move it on the other side of your screen
While holding down the left mouse button
Move the sun to a different side of your desktop
Sun is now on the right side of your desktop
Let’s capture an image
Click this first ray
This cross grid lines will appear
Drag your mouse to the area you want to capture
Then release your mouse
This will appear
Click this to capture the image
You will see these on the sides of your image
Click this
Drag your mouse over the captured image
You will be able to create an arrow
Click this to change the color of the arrow
Click color green for example
And so the color of the arrow changes to green
Click this to add text on the image
Put the cursor anywhere you want and start typing
You can make it smaller or bigger by dragging this
Click here to change the font type
Choose from the list of font here
To make the text smaller, click here
Click here to make it bigger
Click this to change the color of your text
Click this to frame a specific part of your screen
Drag your mouse to make a frame
To change the color of the frame, Click this
To highlight a portion of the image, Click this
You have highlighted the text
Click here to undo and redo
When you are done with your image, click this
The image will be uploaded in screencast.com
Screencast.com is a free hosting for Jing
keeping all your captured images and videos
This will appear when the image has been uploaded
Click ‘View on Screencast.com’
To share your captured image, Copy this link
Share the link into your chat, email, etc.
The person who receives the link
Will just click or paste the link on a browser
He will be able to see your shared screencast image
To save your captured image, click this
Name the file then click Save
Jing will tell you that the file has been saved
The file is saved on your desktop
Let’s create a video recording
Click the first ray with cross in the sun
Grid lines will appear
Press and drag the lines
To the area that you want to do a recording
Click this
To start recording
Click ‘Continue’
Recording starts
While speaking anything you do will be recorded
Click this when you want to stop the recording
You can have a recording of up to 5 minutes
You will receive this when you reach 5 minutes
To listen to your recording, click this
To get the link of your recording, click this
The video will start uploading in screencast.com
Once finished you will receive this
Click ‘View on Screencast.com’
Copy this screencast video link
And paste it into a chat, email, etc
When the person clicks it he will see your video
Click this to save the video on your computer
Name it then click Save
Jing will tell you the video has been saved
Click Close then check your desktop
The video is on your desktop
Double click the video
Choose how do you want to open the video
Click ‘OK’
And the video will open up
Now click the second ray on the sun
It is ‘History’
Copies of your captures are located there
Here are the Images and Videos you have recorded
Click this third ray in the sun with two gears
This is ‘More’
There are many settings you can change in ‘More’
That’s the basic idea of Jing
You capture an image or make a short video
Then you either share it or save it
Make failure your teacher, not your undertaker
