Common E-book readers • Besides computers, more and more electronic

devices can be used as readers for e-books.1. Notebooks : Including mini notebooks and tablet

computers, whose sizes are smaller than regular notebooks and easy to carry.

2. PDAs : Light and small, easy to carry. With Wi-Fi function included, you can download e-books with ease. However, its screen may be too small for many people, and battery capacity is also limited.

3. Smart phones: E-books can be downloaded to your smart phones through Internet connection.

4. Readers especially for E-books : The electronic devices made especially for E-books. Advantages including big screens, resolution similar to the effect of paper-printed books, which can effectively reduce reading fatigue.

Ways for E-book searching• Library Catalog

• Searching for all types of data in NCCU library, including paper-printed books and E-books.

• Searching interface is more familiar to readers.• All the purchased E-books of NCCU library can be found in this library

catalog.

• E-book Databases• There are 65 kinds of E-book databases in NCCU library.

Access the databases by clicking “Databases” on library frontpage. Then you can click on “E-books” to view all E-book related databases.

• Click “Details” to see database details about users manuals, book collections and restrictions.

• Link to E-book platforms to view all the E-book collection, but you can only access full texts purchased by NCCU library.

2. After downloading, you can read the E-books offline by double-clicking them. Each book has a 30-day loan period. After the due date, readers need to download the E-books again.
