It’s wise to give yourself at least 3 months to prepare for a press conference 2 weeks alone should be focused on pitching the
press

Tips that will help you deliver a press conference that will shine a
positive light on your client

Identify 3-4 speakers whom you believe can eloquently convey the targeted messages
Compose talking points for each speaker
Tip #1: Stick to the Speakers & Script

Draft a media advisory, press release, list of news conference speakers/participants with their titles, fact sheets, biographies
Consider placing all materials in a press kit
Prepare a sign-in sheet for journalists
Tip #2: Compose Proper Press Materials

Select a central, well-known location that is convenient for reporters
Choose a place with proper lighting that is relevant to the event
A start time of 10:30 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. works well with journalists’ schedules
