How to Love Your Life7 Secrets
Welcome from me, Dina Marais!
What does it mean to love your life?
For me it means to feel good, wake up and go to sleep happy, have a sense of security, feel safe in the world, being loved, be healthy….
This can be a long list that comes down to being deeply happy as a result of living life to the full and feeling that you leave the world a better place.
Loving your life implies that you love who you are, what you do, the people in your life, where you live, what you have, etc.
For me there are 7 key components or secrets that you require to loving your life.
I briefly describe them here and will unpack them in upcoming presentations.

The first key to loving your life is to know what it means. Love is a mind-body-emotional state as well as a verb.
In terms of a state – what does it feel like in your body and where do you feel it? The question is, how do you know you love your life? What needs to happen for you to experience loving your life?
Thinking of love as a verb probes the question, “How do you do love?”
When you know how your mind works you know the components involved and how to influence them for you to experience and enhance loving your life.
1. KNOW HOW YOUR MIND WORKS
You are at the core of your life and therefore it makes sense that to love your life it is crucial that you love yourself.
That means to accept and love yourself unconditionally.
In order to do that is to take ownership and total responsibility for your thoughts, feelings, words and actions that gives you the choice of how to respond to life’s events.
2. ATTITUDE TOWARDS YOURSELF
The mind and body is one system. In fact your body is your unconscious mind in action. Healthy body, healthy mind is not a frivolous statement. They are dependent on each other. Mind and body is separated linguistically only. What happens in your mind is expressed in your body and has an effect on your immune system.
All mind-states for example: self-gratification, hopeless-helpless, depression, happiness, fear, stress consist of thoughts and feelings as well as neuro-chemistry matching the emotion.
This gives you further insight into how your health depends on your mind-states.
3. LOOKING AFTER YOUR BODY
Nobody is an island and as human beings we are social creatures.
In Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, it is confirmed that relationships are integral to our nature.
Your attitude to yourself impacts on your meanings and beliefs about other people that in turn translate into your mind-body states which determine your responses.
4. ATTITUDE TOWARDS OTHERS
Love and gratitude go hand in hand. To love something is to be grateful and happy you have it.
Practicing gratitude for what you have attracts more into your life.
5. GRATITUDE ATTITUDE
Before you can focus on what you want you first have to know what it is you want.
What you focus on you become attractors in your life – whether it is what you want or don’t want. Your mind does not have a quality control system – it takes whatever you feed it.
That means to focus on a vision that gives you meaning and purpose. The clearer your vision the greater your probability of achieving it.
6. FOCUS ON WHAT YOU WANT
Following this formula ensures that you have the strategy to make your vision real in your life:
Know what you wantHave a planTake action and follow your planNotice your resultsBe flexible and make changes to stay on track
This is a simple ongoing process that aligns your vision with your actions – your intentions with what you pay attention to.
