HOW TO FIND LISTINGS BY ADDRESS OR MLS NUMBER IN RCO3®,

INCLUDING DATA SHARE LISTINGS

Simply enter the street number and the first few letters of the street name, along with an asterisk (*).

Here’s an example:

Why? The asterisk is a wild card. In this example, the asterisk allows us to perform a “BEGINS WITH” search. The MLS system will look for listings (at the street number of 28334) and on a street beginning with the word/letters “Ridge”. It will ignore the rest of the letters in the street name field. Match examples include: “Ridgeway”, “Ridgecrest”, “Ridgetop”, etc.

Tip: Do not enter the street type information (i.e. street, st., road, rd., ave., avenue, etc.) into the Street Name field.

You can also use two (2) asterisks to perform a “CONTAINS” search. Here’s an example.

The MLS system will look for listings (at the street number of 28334) and on a street that CONTAINS the letters “Ridge”. It will ignore all preceding and succeeding letters/words in the street name field. Match examples include: “Ridgecrest”, “Steepridge”, “Rocky Ridge Way”, etc.).

You can also perform an “ENDS WITH” search by placing the asterisk at the front of the street name field.

Here’s an example:

In this example, the MLS system will look for listings (at the street number of 28334) and a street name that ends with the word/letters “Ridge”. Match examples include: “Flatridge”, High Ridge”, etc.

You can also use the Speed bar (shown below) to perform an address search. The Speed bar appears at the top of every screen in RCO3® and it’s even quicker!

Simply enter the street number, the street name, and the appropriate asterisk(s)–depending on the type of search (begins with, contains, or ends with) you want to perform.

Another way to find listings is by MLS number.

Use the Speed bar when entering the FULL MLS number (as shown above on the left). OR, use the MLS# search field (as shown above on the right).

IMPORTANT NOTE: We cannot search by partial MLS numbers (and wildcards) when using the Speed bar (error shown below).

When searching for Data Share (i.e. GLR) listings, in the system, it’s important to know that Realcomp automatically applies a prefix to the original MLS number during the import process.

We do this to help ensure that all listings retain a unique MLS number in our system.

If you wish, you can go here for a list of prefix numbers that are added to listings imported into Realcomp.

However, an easier way to locate Data Share listings is to search for them by address.

To find a Data Share listing based on its original MLS number, we recommend that you use the “Cross Property Search”.

Then, search using the MLS number field. Because of our prefix process, you will need to use at least one wildcard in order find the listing based on its original MLS number. In this example, we’re performing an “ENDS WITH” search:
