How to Draw a Baby Elephant

with Simple Shapes

Ready to go? Click here.

All you need to get started is a blank piece of paper and a #2 pencil with an eraser.

How to Draw a Baby Elephant with Simple Shapes

Start with a small circle. This will be the elephant’s head. Remember to keep your lines light so you can easily erase lines you don’t need later.

Click here to go to the next slideAdd another circle to the left of your first circle.




Then add another smaller circle inside that circle. This will form the elephant’s trunk.




Draw a big oval to the right of your first circle. This is the elephant’s body.



Click here to go to the next slideAdd a square to your first circle. This will be the elephant’s ear.




Draw a smaller square under the big oval near the front.This is the start of the elephant’s legs.




Add another square below that square.




To make the rest of the legs add some squares and rectangles below the big oval. The next few frames will show you where to place them.




Now add another small circle to the right of the big oval. This will form the elephant’s tail.

Click here to go to the next slideNow go back and trace over the outside of the elephant with a heavy line as shown above.




Just erase unnecessary lines and add an eye and some details and you are finished! Be sure to color your elephant drawing and display it proudly.
