The day Houdini appeared, like magic.Everything Houdini stands for comes from how we live – and we live to play hard. The idea for Houdini first came to us when we were stranded in what most people would call an impossible situation, our backs against the wall. It was a do or die time. Everyone on the team knew that if we were going to make it down the mountain, we would need the skills and steel nerves of an escape artist to see us through. So, we called out to the best of the best: Houdini. That day his spirit came and helped us through.

Our productsWe believe all our products have a little bit of Houdini magic that will come through for you: whether you’re trying to stretch that extra inch for a hold, survive a downward-plunging drop in weather, or squeeze one last pair of socks into your backpack.

Our test: our selvesThe Houdini team and our friends – hardcore professional athletes in every sport imaginable – test each and every one of our products. So we know they can take whatever you and the world throw at them. Our designs come directly from the time that we, and our friends, spend climbing mountains, racing rivers and surfing the elements. We know that the clothes you wear are every bit as vital as any other piece of equipment in your pack.

Pushing forward, physically and technicallyWe’re always looking for better ways to cover your needs. We were the first to pioneer performance underwear made from fleece. Since then we’ve continued to develop garments that fullfil the specific requirements of the world’s most extreme athletes. Our entire design philosophy is based on form following function and less being more. Keeping the Great Outdoors Great(For Generations to Come)

At Houdini, we believe in the future. That’s why we’re working so hard on it. We work hard on our products so you can continue to play among mountaintops, rapids, trails and forests, well-protected in comfort and style. And we work hard on the way we consume resources so we can preserve the natural world that gives us these thrills. We believe it’s our duty to find sustainable ways to produce high-quality products that will protect the elements from us, as much as us from the elements.

So Far, So Great: About 80% of our products are made in an environmentally sustainable way. Most of these products are made from recycled fabrics, renewable rawmaterials and/or bluesigned. The majority are either recyclable or biodegradable. Our goal is of course 100%. Our timeline; as soon as possible.

We work to inspire all our suppliers, shippers and stores to operateaccording to our company’s goal to minimize our environmental footprint – from our factories all the way through to people like you – and back. We count on you – Houdini athletes, fans and friends – to recognize that recycling our garments isn’t an option; it’s an obligation.

If you don’t see a Recycling Unit at your local store, please ask the manager, or send your worn-out clothes to us directly.

Core ComfortHoudini Core Comfort apparel is a complete layering system that is made up of everything from underwear to shells. It’s how we build you up, so you’ll feel comfortable and confident going out into the world no matter what kind of sport you intend to do there.

The physical benefits of maintaining a constant body temperature, what we call your ‘microclimate’, are huge. By choosing the right combination of layers to suit your needs you’ll be able to pack less, perform better and go further. Our Core Comfort system enables you to properly control your microclimate at any activity level, through any weather.

Taking an inside-out approach is essential. When you play hard you get sweaty, which is not good when it comes to keeping warm and dry. Our products (and especially those closest to you) compensate for this by moving moisture away from your skin and transporting it to the outside.The outer layers, although keeping weather at a distance, are developed

to aid inner layers in moving moisture to the outside. We don’t add barriers unless it is absolutely necessary.

Core Comfort isn’t just about protecting your microclimate, it’s about knowing you’re looking after the world’s as well. In the local perspective by being comfortable and confident with how your gear will endure use and abuse, stay fresh and even look good. The ultimate combination of cool and warmth, strength and resilience, technology and nature.In ancient China, it is said that an empress discovered silk when she accidentally dropped a silk cocoon in her tea. An exquisitely fine, almost translucent fiber untwined. In Roman times the finest merino wool fibers were exclusively dedicated to none but kings and nobles. Ever since, silk and merino have kept the fortunate and brave well equipped during their travels and expeditions.

The blend of the two in our SilkMerino™ marks a new era in history. It is the ultimate combination of cool and warmth, strength and resilience, technology and nature. Its exceptionally fine proteinbased fibers, ranging from 11 to 18,5 microns, provide natural moisture vapor transmission and perfect thermal balance. SilkMerino™ is naturally endowed with anti-static and anti-bacterial properties.

We love making longlasting products and the typical lifetime of a workbook is simply too short for us. That’s why we decided to make ours into more - a workbook, lookbook and “display-friendly” (which is why some pages are flipped upside-down). So hang on to yours and make use of it!

Our printhouse partner since many years (Vitt Grafiska) have also made sure it is produced according to the highest enviro-standards. This means paper made from recycled fiber, non-clorine bleech and climate compensation (by planting trees in Mozambique) ... all the good stuff.
