Tickets can be purchased prior to event by forwarding entry requirements to the secretary (on form below) or purchasing from middle of ring or from the secretary’s office from the start of events at 7.30 am Friday Morning. Prize money can be collected from the middle ring on presentation of your place card. NOMINATIONS FOR DRESSAGE: Closing date 28

Uncollected prize money will not be forwarded. THE FOLLOWING REGULATIONS WILL BE ENFORCED, AND COMPETITORS ARE ASKED TO CO-OPERATE AND SO AVOID ANY DELAY TO THE RING PROGRAM.
1. No person or exhibit will be permitted to compete until all fees have been paid. 2. All entries must be accompanied by correct entry fee. No refunds will be given except in special circumstances. 3. All jumping contests will be judged under the guidance of EFA rules. 4. Horses competing in junior feature event(s) cannot compete in senior/open feature events. The committee reserves the right to change events to suit the nominations received. 5. MAIDEN - A horse/pony, irrespective of height, which has broken its maiden in any height class, is not eligible for a maiden in any other height class. (At any Agricultural, independent or similar Shows, local awards not included). 6. NOVICE – For the purpose of this show, shall not have won a Champion Hack award. (At any Ag Shows, independent or similar, local awards not included). 7. LOCAL – Local events are to be local owned and ridden. Local defined as within the Shire of Flinders Only. Horse and rider must have resided in the Shire for three (3) months prior to the commencement of the Show. 8. PONIES - To be ridding by a child 16yrs & under. Except where stated – 300 - 304. 9. HELMETS – Approved protective helmets must be worn by all children and jumping riders. AS/NZS 3838 (Current Australian standard).
10. STALLIONS – Stallions are not eligible to be entered in rider or hack classes. Stallions are to be handled and/or ridden by a competent person 17yrs & over. 11. ATTIRE – All riders must be neatly attired in a minimum of short sleeve, collared shirt and stock or tie in showjumping and long sleeve collared shirt and stock/tie and jacket in the hacking events. Children may wear official Pony Club uniforms in hack and rider classes. 12. MEASUREMENT – Horses are to be measured upon request or in the event of a dispute. 13. AGES – Child riders will be 16yrs and under Lady and Gentleman riders will be 17yrs & over. The age of child competitors is established for all days of the show by the age of the competitor on the first day of the Show. Copies of birth certificates or student cards may be called for if stewards require proof of age. 14. Grooms and/or others in charge of exhibits must obey the orders of the stewards or they will be ejected from the grounds. Any exhibit not under control in the opinion of the Judges or Stewards, will not be judged and will be ordered to leave the ring and warm- up areas. 15. The Chief Steward holds the right to alter adds, delete classes or amend the program as deemed necessary. This includes start times. 16. A qualified Veterinarian may be called on to perform drug testing on any horse being exhibited. 17. Perpetual trophies (irrespective of who has won them) are to remain in the Flinders Shire. 18. Championship winners must exhibit in Grand Parade. Prize winners in all sections are requested to participate in the Grand Parade. 19. Pleasure classes must be ridden in a plain snaffle, no spurs, whips or dropped nose bands. 20. Prize winners in all sections are requested to participate in the Grand Parade. 21. Competitors enter at own risk. Entries will only be accepted on condition that the society is not held responsible for any accident or Damage by or to any exhibit and the exhibitors shall accept all responsibility in this respect. 22. Registration papers must be made available on request if necessary eg led in. 23. Stewards have full authority to refuse nominations that do not comply with residential or other conditions as stated in the schedule. 24. Any other breed unregistered to clarify this rule; this means THAT NO horse with financial affiliation to any associated organization may enter. 25. Should an exhibitor, having gained a prize, be disqualified, the next in merit shall gain the prize. 26. No drug, hormone or tranquiliser shall be administered to any animal exhibit except under the direction of a vet who shall advise the stewards if in his opinion such drug, hormone or tranquiliser is likely to have any effect upon the animal which would be material to its chances of being awarded a prize and in such case the stewards may debar the animal from competing. A steward may at any time direct the vet to take a sample of blood, saliva or urine from an exhibit for testing. Drug testing may be performed on any horse/pony or stallion. 27.ALL NON-COMPETITORS MUST STAY OUT OF THE RING. Only competitors competing in a current class being judged should be inside the ring. One horse per competitor in the arena at any time (exceptions in the instance of a competitor jumping more than one horse in the same class; or for those who have small children competing).

CAMPING AND STABLING
1. Limited camping and stabling facilities are available in the Showground area. Use of these facilities is only permitted from 29th May to 5
th June. Arrangements need to be made with the Flinders Shire Council should you wish to use these facilities before or
after these dates.
2. All camps and stables are to be left clean and free of rubbish and manure. If left in an untidy manner, The Committee Reserves the Right to charge a cleaning fee. No electric fences are permitted in the camping area. There are several large yards and electric fences may only be used in these yards.
3. Bookings for camping and stabling, which need to be made at least seven (7) days prior to the first day of the Show, will only be taken once written application and payment is received by the Secretary. See official application form for current fees. Camp tickets are to be displayed in plain view at your site.
4. Travelers and locals living more than 10km from the Showground will be given first preference to all stables/yards. Max of 4 covered stalls per family.
5. Please do not occupy any stables or camp sites without approval, you could be asked to move. Stalls will be allotted and a draw placed in plain view.
6. Dogs are to be kept on a lead at all times. When tied to campsite, lead is not to exceed one meter in length. A sign is to be placed to indicate the presence of a dog. The Hughenden Show Society will not be held responsible for any injury or damage caused by or to any animal kept on the grounds.

The show jumping section is conducted under the guidance of the current EA rules; the following conditions of entry
apply to all show jumping classes:
Horses my only compete in two height classes in the same jump event, irrespective of riders (excluding
feature events)
Excessive whipping/spurring/rein pulling will not be tolerated and offenders will be disqualified from the event and all
future jumping events at the Hughenden Show 2017.
Horses competing in junior feature event(s) cannot compete also in same open feature events – however
junior riders are eligible to ride open on a different horse.
The Committee reserves the right to change events to suit nominations received.
