Who would be the audience for your media product ? My film "Entity" is aimed at appealing to the demographic of 15-25 years old. The reason why I had chosen this age range was from the brief that I was set, in which I had to create a horror film. The teen aspect of horror came to mind from previously watching many American horrors such as "A nightmare on elm street" and "I know what you did last summer", where these types of films consist of an all teen cast to target their audience. so to target our audience my group and I casted the role of "Bruce" to one of the members of my group "Danny". The reason for this was that he was a young adult male. This would then appeal to the demographic purely because of his age. "Bruce" is seen as a well dressed, male character of 18 that the audience will possible see as a role model; he is perceived very fit in structure, well dressed in formal wear to suggest ideology of a smart character and his appearance overall connotes ideology of an acceptable member of society . From having this male character other male audience's can then form a relationship with the character and look upon him as a role model considering that he would be around the same age as the targeted audience. Because a lot of slasher films are more for the male market due to the bloodshed that is produced, My group and I chose the casting role of a male figure that would then help to appeal to the demographic women gaze. Women can identify the protagonist as a well dressed, handsome character and thus become connected within the film. Usually the protagonist would be seen as woman for the final girl scene near the end. The reason we chose to go against this typical convention would be down to the audience. From allowing myself to have the character of "Bruce" as the protagonist the demographic women are now targeted from the use of a male lead instead of seeing a girl. This then created a wider audience for my product enabling my film to be shown across many formats such as through YouTube and social networking sites.

The use of mise en scene was again featured throughout to help attract our audience by using the location of a school. Because my audience demographic was between 15-23 this meant that they would still be in, or previously left school. The audience are then able to relate back to the location and place themselves within the film. To help with this, the use of subjective camera movement was looked upon to get a first person shot of the spooky corridors. The audience are then able to relate back to their experiences at school and thus making the film seem realistic to them. With the help of eerie sound effects and editing the film creates a lot of tension building scenes that the audience can become involved with.

Our film is looked upon towards a very niche market. The reason for this is because obviously it was low budget due to A level students filming, but the use of an all British cast helps to exemplify ideology of a niche market. Just like the film "Eden lake" where the portrayal of an all British cast allows for a specific audience to be targeted. From social networking sites such as Facebook, twitter and tumblr, getting the word

across was very easy with a range of different people viewing the product from different locations, not just in Britain. Through the use of the internet I was then able to present the film towards a wider branched audience.
