Course Description
Honors Biology is also known as “pre-AP Biology”, as it is the precursor to a college level biology course/AP Biology course.
According to the College Board, “Pre-AP Biology is based on the following two important premises. All students can perform well at rigorous academic levels.

The belief that we can prepare every student for higher intellectual engagement by starting the development of skills and acquisition of knowledge as early as possible
Honors Biology is an extended time course to accommodate the lab requirements.
This Class: IS:One step below an AP (advanced
placement) course. Students typically take AP classes their junior & senior year- counts as a college class.
Challenging & rigorous… Students MUST learn study skills & be organized in order to do well in a conceptual science such as Biology.
IS NOTA continuation of Middle School science.
