FROM THE DESK OF THE ADMINISTRATOR
The last day of June already? Where has the time gone? The year is half over, if you will. Amazing. On a sad note, this is the last weekend for St. Nicholas Parish, Millvale, to be a part of Grouping 101. I have come to appreciate the relationship. As someone commented to me, I too will miss the Saturday morning Mass. I was presiding one time and thought, “This is the most ecumenical Mass of our schedule!” I thought that as I scanned the congregation noticing there were equal numbers of people from the four parishes! We wish our sisters and brothers of the Shrine Grouping God’s blessing as they begin their new adventure. As part of the “trade”, we are also losing Fr. Moses Drammeh. He has been accepted as a resident by the new grouping. He too has been a blessing to us. His priestly service and passion for the faith have been a powerful example to us. We wish him God’s blessing as well! So, with the endings there are beginnings too! Not only does a new fiscal year begin tomorrow, so too does our new partnership with St. Aloysius Parish, Re-serve Twp. As has been noted many times previously, the Mass schedule has been adjusted to reflect the shifting of the parishes. The Saturday evening 6 PM at HSP is now the 4 PM at SAP. The 8:30 that was at SNP is now at HSP. The Wednesday morning 8 AM that was at SNP is now at SBP. In addition, the 8:00 AM Saturday that was at SNP is now at ASP with confessions follow-ing. The location of the Saturday 12:30-1:30 confes-sions has moved to HSP, due to the after-Mass confes-sions at ASP Saturday morning. There will also be con-fessions at SAP from 3 PM until 3:45. On a happy note are the two great birthdays cele-brated this week, both on the same day! As we cele-brate the birth of our nation 243 years ago on Thurs-day, I encourage you to come to Mass to pray for this nation or ours. There will be one Mass at 9:00 AM at ASP. All are welcome to attend. That same day, during and after Mass, we will celebrate Fr. Jerry Lutz’s birth-day. While not quite the same age as our country, we all appreciate what he does for us and our parishes. A light reception will follow Mass in the Activities Build-ing. Hope you can come to celebrate these two impor-tant birthdays!
See you in Church! Fr. Jim Gretz

MISSION OF MERCY PITTSBURGH The 3rd Annual Mission of Mercy Pittsburgh is a FREE dental clinic, where our under-served friends and neighbors can receive the care they need. This year’s clinic will be held Friday, July 26 and Saturday, July 27 at PPG Paints Arena. Doors open at 6 am, clinic service begins at 7 am. Patients should come prepared to wait for treatment, as this is a first-come, first served clinic until capacity is reached each day. Wellness resources will also be available to all patients who attend the clinic. There are no eligibility or income requirements; no appointments or pre-registration; and service is limited to one procedure per patient per day. This event is truly life-changing for the most vulnerable members of soci-ety who will receive the care they both need and de-serve—elevating their dignity, alleviating their pain, in-creasing their confidence and giving them their bright smiles back. Caring, compassionate volunteers are criti-cal to the success of the event. They are still in need of volunteers―especially den sts and other medical pro-fessionals―so kindly consider giving your me. For infor-mation about the clinic, including how to volunteer, visit www.mompgh.org.
