Holy Mary, Mother of God Holy Day of Obligation December 31st - 7:00 pm January 1st - 9:00 am, 11:00 am (bilingual) Dear Family and Friends, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Another year of our Lord has passed by so quickly. We pause to reflect on the infinite Love our God has for us, that His only Son Jesus was born in time to dwell in our midst, to bring redemption. We celebrate with great solemnity! As I reflect back over the year a few things come to mind. First of all, the crisis that has hit the church has been very challenging! I put my trust in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who promised us that the gates of hell will not prevail against His Church and that the Holy Spirit will guide the Church until the end of time. I find consolation in the people of God who remain faithful because they put their trust that is Jesus. Here at St. Michael’s we push forward trying to fulfill God’s command to feed the poor. We built a new Food Pantry to handle the growing volume of those who need assistance. We also built a Pavilion to serve our growing community by providing a space to meet outdoors. We continue to grow as a parish which brings the challenge to help our newcom- ers feel a part of our community. The growth doesn’t seem to be slowing down. We add several new households to our parish every week. May God bless you all this Christmas season and in the New Year! Yours in Christ, Fr. Larry Nie4se, Pastor St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church The Blessed Sacrament will be Reposed through January 1st, 2019 Adoration will resume on Wednesday, January 2nd at 9:30 am

Christmas Break—No classes from: Sunday, Dec 23 through Sunday, Jan 6. Classes resume Wednesday, January 9.

RE Office closed December 21-January 7.

The Twelve Days of Christmas:

The Catholic Church cele-

brates the season of Christmas over a span of twelve days. The twelve

days of Christmas begin on Decem-ber 25 and ends on

January 5, the day before the feast of the Epiphany (which cele-brates the day when the magi dis-

covered Jesus). These two important feast

days and the twelve days of Christ-mas give us time to celebrate Jesus’ birth at Mass and discover how we can bring his love to peo-

ple in our everyday lives. So let’s keep those lights lit

and Christmas trees up through January 5!
