PARISH LIFE
We congratulate all who have received their FIRST HOLY COMMUNION this weekend. When you receive Holy Communion in a state of grace, you experience a foretaste of Heaven because you enter into a special com-munion with Jesus Christ. In the Gospel reading we hear Jesus telling us
that He is the vine and we are branches – that means that as branches, our life very much depends on Him; and the best way to get that life from Him is by receiving the Eucharist (Holy Communion). These are some of the simple prayers after Communion: [1] “My Lord and my God”. [2] “Oh sacrament most holy, Oh Sacrament divine, all praise and thanksgiving, be every moment thine.”

NOMINATIONS FOR TRUSTEE Holy Family Parish is seeking nominations for Parish Secretary Trustee. This is a two-year term. The Secretary Trustee holds an important role in the Parish community and is a member of the Pastoral Council. The Trustee: • Represents the Parish as a member of the Parish Corporation.
• Assists the Pastor in the coordination and maintenance of Parish funds.
• Reviews the annual Parish budget together with the Pastor.
• Reviews and signs all checks. • Assists the Pastor in assuring the preparation of financial reports to the Parish and Diocese.
• Signs the annual financial report to the Diocese. If you feel called to this ministry or would like to nominate a parishioner, please call Pamela Meyers at the Parish Office at 715-735-9100.
Thank you! Holy Family Parish is thankful for all of our parishioners who con-tributed to the Bishop’s Appeal. We have surpassed our goal again this year!
Holy Family Parish has received a very generous gift from the estate of Virginia Wehrman. It is truly a blessing to be remem-
bered in a parishioner’s will. These unexpected funds will be a big help with our budget.
Walk to Mary - Saturday, May 5 The Walk to Mary is 21 mile pilgrimage. It starts at the Shrine of Saint Joseph at Old Saint Joe’s Church on the campus of Saint Norbert College in De Pere, and ends at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help in Champion, Wisconsin. There are several points along the way you can join in to make your pilgrimage shorter. Talk to Kevin Ripley if you’d like to walk with others from our parish. Register at: walktomary.com

In the Gospel today, Jesus says “Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing.” In-
deed, by helping the poor we can “bear much fruit” and we find that with Jesus we can do everything.
Your gift to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul showed that you are indeed disciples of Jesus as it brought your love by assisting local fami-lies, providing food and money for utilities,
rent and other bills. God Bless you!
The food pantry is in need of non-food items: shampoo, conditioner, dish soap, laundry soap, toothpaste, deodorant, toilet paper, and tissues.
