Sophie Scholl was a fearless leader of an underground student resistance group in Munich called “The White Rose”. She and her brother Hans were arrested by the Gestapo in 1943 for distributing pamphlets on campus. During their “trial” they boldly called for freedom, rights, and personal responsibility. Sophie never once backed down even in the face of certain death. Using the historical records of her inter- rogations and trial, this Oscar nominated 2005 film re-creates the last six days of her young life. A tense and compelling story of courage in a world gone mad.
