NOTES FROM THE GRAND LINE From GRM Naomi… Hello to all who will be attending our Grand Court! We are looking for someone to be the Chair for the shuttle van
between the airport and the hotel in Lebanon. We have drivers, we just need someone to be in charge of getting
information from our visitors and get that info to the drivers. For example: names, airline, flight number, time
of arrival, date of departure and time of departure, contact info such as phone number or email address, etc.
If you can help us out, please contact HL Naomi Burke at 503-654-0316 or email her at: [email protected].
Thank you for volunteering to do this job. Many Hugs!
From GAM Kris & GAP Wes… Dear Honored Ladies and Sir Knights,
We wish to thank each of you who attended the Masquerade Grand
Ball. Your participation made this event a once in a lifetime
celebration honoring our Grand Royal Matron HL Naomi Burke and
Grand Royal Patron SK Bill Korté.
We are so thankful to the members of Kellogg and Mirror Courts for their
support and gifts of time, talent and treasures to bring this event to fruition. We also
want to thank all the Kristal Inspirations and Soothsayers who came early to set up, and
stayed late to help with clean up! You are the best ever!!!
It is with heartfelt gratitude that we extend our best wishes to all our Grand Court members and their families for a festive
Thanksgiving season. Enjoy this time with family and friends, always looking for the joy that life has to offer. Happy
Thanksgiving to all!
In Amaranth love and service,
HL Kris and SK Wes
From GC Patti…Holiday greetings from your Grand Conductress:
As the Holiday season is approaching very quickly and we will be spending time with our families and friends, I
wanted to take a moment and reflect on what a wonderful organization we are all involved with and be
“THANKFUL” for what we do. The Order of the Amaranth teaches lessons of Truth, Faith, Wisdom and Charity.
These lessons will carry us through our lives as long as we stay focused on what we do and why we do it.
Our Masonic organizations are all an important part of our history and they all guide each and every one of us
throughout our lives. Every organization has its own special projects and we do all work hard to better our
organization or organizations as many of us belong to more than one of them.
As we begin this holiday season it is a time for each of us to reflect on what we do and why we do it! I often tell
friends and even my family “Amaranth is just what I do”!
May you each have a blessed holiday season!
HL Patti Nielsen, Grand Conductress
The Dazling Dames would like to put in a little advertisement about saving cans and bottles for our group fundraiser. Folks can turn in their stash themselves or contact HLPatti or HL Marlee for information. Or bring to a grand court activity or our last OV at Christina! Thanks a bunch. Happy turkey day! Marlee
From GAC Judy… The Crafty Ladies are selling glove bags, beginning at the Holiday Party and then available throughout the year
….the bags are made from a white/gold glittery fabric, lining colors vary and boast the Amaranth emblem on the
bag, they measure appx 8.5” x 5”. They can also be used as a small evening clutch. We will be selling these for
$10.00 each.
Wishing all a Happy Thanksgiving…we all have so much to be thankful for…
HL Judy Jones, Grand Assoc. Conductress

Good morning from Seaside - Robert is my Friend - Roberts Rules of Order are the Basis for Parliamentary Procedure in Amaranth and other Organizations. We will hear more from Our Parliamentarian at Grand Court but for now, Here are the basics for a motion - - 1 First a member makes a motion "I Move XYZ" - 2 Then there is a second. - 3 Third the chair states the motion formally placing it on the floor. - 4 Fourth the members debate the motion - 5 Fifth the chair puts the motion to a vote "All those in Favor" - 6 Sixth the chair announces the results of the votes "Motion passes" We have many reasons for making motions during meetings, to pay bills, to investigate an activity we have planned, or to proceed with said activities. Lets remember to vote for the good of the order as we proceed in the business part of our meetings. As our GRP has said Care and Speak Kindly to others. hugs Ellen Washington Grand Court, Hotel Change--- New location will be: FAIRBRIDGE HOTEL & CONFERENCE CTR 1507 NORTH 1st STREET YAKIMA, WA 509-902-8090

Loons
MERCER, WISCONSIN BILLS ITSELF THE “LOON CAPITAL OF THE
WORLD.”
This cozy town in the Badger State has a large concentration of loons, which
frequent the surrounding lakes. In Mercer, the Great Northern Diver is treated
like royalty. A 16-foot, 2000-pound talking loon statuenamed Claire d’Loon sits
outside the chamber of commerce building. Moreover, residents throw a “Loon
Festival” each summer. Here, you can pose next to locals who dress like the
birds, get your face painted, and enjoy a bake sale. Then there’s the loon calling
contest, wherein contestants of all ages show off their yodels, wails, and
tremolos. By the way, the 2016 festival will commence on August 3. That should
give you plenty of time to practice. Now get yodeling!
Squirrels…
There are more than 200 squirrel species worldwide, from tree squirrels and flying squirrels to chipmunks
and marmots. They're all in the Sciuridae family, which is native to every continent except Australia and
Antarctica.
Squirrels range in size from the five-inch African pygmy squirrel to relative behemoths like Indian giant
squirrel (pictured above) or China's red-and-white giant flying squirrel (see below), both of which can
grow more than 3 feet long.
