How many Hicksville graduates not only still reside in Hicksville, have a lot of their family still living in Hicksville? I do, gradu-ated in '72, my husband Craig moved over from August La to Tobias St. when we married in '75, & he graduated in '71. My BIL Gary Bruckner and his wife Carolee Stumpf, both

Hicksville graduates live in Hicksville, their daugh-ter Kelly also a Hicksville graduate lives in Hicksville. My cousins, Karen Bruckner and her husband Bobby Dwyer, both Hicksville graduates, still reside in Hicksville.Paula Jargo Bruckner1972

Hi Bob,Just wondering if a Memoriam Tribute has been published for the classes of 1955, 1956 and 1957?If so, could you please send me this information? You and the newsletter sta do a great job. ake care.Arlene (Andrade) Sahadachny

ArleneThe main reason the In Memoriam is well accepted is because of pictures. People viewing yearbook photos of their classmates from years prior certainly sparks the memory of when they walked the hallowed halls of Hicksville High. I don't have yearbooks for 1955, 1956 and 1957. So, the only thing I would be able to do is make a list of names but that feature is already part of the newsletter and is displayed in the In Memoriam page shown in the menu at the top of the home page. I would be happy to do for all the classes mentioned if only I had photos.Hope you are well.Warm RegardsBualo Bob Casale

BobThanks. I will check it out. I had my yearbook along with 1955 & 1956 but they got lost in my last move. Take care.Arlene

Hi Bob,I lived in Hicksville from 1953 to about 1971. It was a pleasure watching your Hicksville video - a neighbor who lived on my street (Elliott Drive) found it on YouTube and shared it with me. Really brought back old memories. I used to go to the Farmer's Market on Bloomingdale Road every Friday or Saturday to "hang out." Although we lived in Hicksville, I attended Bethpage schools; as you know, school districts and townships overlapped. My friend has a sharp eye - he spotted a picture of me at 13'28" playing in the Hicksville Community Band with Charlie Gouse conducting (it was a band; the Hicksville Community Orchestra was another ensemble in which I also played.) Small potatoes - thanks for putting together such a wonderful nostalgia trip.Best regards,Gene Kavadlo (playing clarinet in video)

I’d like to catch up on HixNews if it is still being produced as a newsletter.  Is there an archive of back issues?  At one time it was being produced as a newslet-ter, right? Also, I'd also like to inquire of the readership about the whereabouts of my old friend, Sal Mure, '57.Gene Yetter 1959

GeneAbsolutely, it is still being produced.  A new issue goes online every month and all issues are archived back to volume 1 number 1.  Just go to http://hixnews.com for the most recent issue. There is a link to the archives in the navigation bar at the top of the page.  Let us know if we can assist further.Roger Whitaker… webmaster for hixnews.com Greetings,Please insert an entry for Salvatore Mure, class of 1957.  I'd like to be in touch with him.  I've found a copy of a 45 rpm record Sal made, "Morse Code," which got a lot of air play.  Maybe Sal or someone in his family would like to have this record.  And it would be great to be in touch with my old friend.Gene Yetter 1959

Hyperlink to Sal Mure’s Record: “Morse Code”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XL0FiKU8tI

Hi Gene,Good to hear from you! We have an Anton Mure (Class of '68) in our database. Do you think he is Sal's brother or a cousin?Best, Henry

HenryThanks for the message.  I don't know if Anton is related.  It's an unusual surname.  How many unrelated Mure's are there in the world?  Sal had an older brother, so '68 doesn't t for the brother.  And class of '68 should rule out an ospring. I may have spoken to Anton sometime around one of the reunions.  Or I spoke to someone close to him.  I think he was in a band that would be performing for a reunion.  The claim was that he is not related to Sal.  I think Bob Casale was a third party in the conversation.Gene

OK, Gene. I won't contact Anton; but I will add your request to our "Looking for People" list.Henry

Greetings, Bob, Happy New Year to you and the HixNews sta.  You're doing a great job on the site.  I'm afraid I've been out of touch.  Will try to let that not continue! I can donate my copy of the '57 yearbook.  Do you still need it?Gene Yetter

GeneI would love a 1957 yearbook. It will denitely enhance my ability to FLASHBACK through pictures to another great Hicksville High School class.Bualo Bobp.s. Also found something that might be alarming to you:  Name: Salvatore C Mure Born: 23 August 1939 Died: 14 January 2011 Address: 85 Haverford Road, Hicksville, NY Last Residence: Fort Lauderdale, Broward County, Florida 33321

Bob,That is denitely our Sal Mure, '57.  I remember his address at 85 Haverford, not far from my house on Dartmouth Drive.  I'll try to reach one of his survivors. Do you have any obit research accounts?Gene

OBITUARYSalvatore Mure of Tamarac passed away January 14, 2011. Survived by his wife of 37 years, Madeline; sons Richard,

James and Joseph; and four grandchildren. Friends will be received on Monday 2 to 4 and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the

T.M. Ralph Funeral Home, 371 NW 136th Avenue.Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at

St. Malachy Catholic Church. He will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

HenryIt's apparently too late for "Looking for People!”  Bob wrote me with information he just found on the Social Security Death Index. The 85 Haverford is exactly the former address of Sal Mure in the Class of '57.  So the other info, date of death, etc., must be good.  Sorry to say. I tried to nd an obituary.  I think there are two but it appears I'm blocked as an unregistered user of the resources.  There are several names associated with Salvatore C. I may try to contact one of them.Gene

Sorry to hear this, Gene. I'll remove the inquiry.Henry

Dear Editors:In recent Newsletters, Dennis Listort has posted queries seeking reports of the incident in which our classmate Bruce Sollod was killed. Although it’s unlikely that anyone on Hixnews would have what Dennis seeks, at least I can oer him some guidance about nding whatever is available.

Dennis, you should be able to nd microlm of newspaper reports this way:

• Your local library probably carries The NY Times on micro lm (or, if you subscribe digitally to the Times, you can search its archives online). Don’t get your hopes up, though; you might nd an obituary for Bruce, but the Times usually focused only on incidents of national or international interest. • I would expect that The L.I. Press carried the story. The NY State Library in Albany may have microlm of the Press for the dates you want (call rst to check); if not, I think that the sta there can tell you what other libraries in NYS have it. If you’re around NYC, I think that the Queens Reference Library in Jamaica has most of it. • Newsday is harder to nd on microlm, at least for the 1960s editions. Again, talk to the NYS Library sta about

where it might be found. • The Daily News is another possibility, although it didn’t always carry Nassau County news items in those years. Try calling the NYC 42nd St. Library to ask what years of the News they have on microlm.

• The Journal-American on microlm seems to be harder to nd; like the News, it might not have carried the story at all. I know that there is microlm of the J-A in Chicago and Texas; Googling might help you nd a source near you.

• There were various small county/town newspapers, like the Herald, which came and went during these years. Your best bet for nding any of them from 1962 is to call the Hicksville Public Library and ask.

For the other items… I don’t know how Nassau County archives old police reports, or if it ever releases them to the public, but they should have them. Call the Oce of the Nassau County Clerk, tell them what you want, and they may be able to help you locate something.

You might also try the LIRR. They would have made their own investigation for legal purposes. If the engineer made any claims, then or later, for counseling or a leave of absence because of personal trauma from the incident, there might be more detailed information in their les. Ask if their records department (or archives) makes old records available to researchers. I would start by calling their public relations people – when I still lived on L.I., they helped me resolve a problem which my community was having with one of the railroad’s structures.

If there was any subsequent civil litigation because of Bruce’s death, there also would be court les, which I think would be in the public domain. And, if you thought it a good idea, you could try to locate members of the Sollod family; someone may have saved old newspaper clippings. By the way, the NTSB did not yet exist, so they would not have any reports of this event in their les.

Incidentally, I may be misremembering, but I believe that I saw Bruce that day. As I passed the High School o school hours, he and a few friends were walking near the main entrance, all wearing cardigans, I think. I had rst met him only the year before, in Junior High, and I hadn’t seen in him much after starting HHS, so Bruce “stood out” to me when I saw them. Given what soon happened, I’ve never forgotten noticing Bruce then.

I wish you luck with your research.Ron WencerTorontoClass of ‘64

Hi Bob,I see in the latest issue of the Alumni Bulletin, you were kind enough to list my query asking for leads regarding Bruce Sollod. Please continue to do so with each forthcoming issue. If I receive word from someone, then I will let you know. Thank you so much.Dennis Listort 1964

Below is the note that appeared in the November issue:

Hi Bob,I'm trying to track down newspaper articles, police reports, etc., regarding the train accident which caused the death of Bruce Sollod on May 4, 1962. Keith Thomas, Jimmy Kansas and I were with Bruce at that time. Can you lead me to sources, links, etc., that might have information? Thank you.Dennis Listort 1964

Folks,The photos attached (not shown) were sent to me by my Uncle, Ray Matienzo, who taught English at HHS during the early to mid-60s. I thought you and the readers of the Newsletter would nd them interesting.Cheers,Gerry Dizzino 1964 I have seen most of these pics on History in Pictures ...BestHenry Lichtenstein 1959Editor Plus many of the photos were included in a previousnewsletter.bualo bob casale

Dear HixNews,Will there be a 40th reunion for the Class of 1975?Kim O'Rourke

KimWhat was your maiden name? In the interim, I will investigate.bualo bob casale

BobMy maiden name was Taddonis.Kim

KimI went to the 1975 Page on Facebook and found out some information...

Thank you, Bualo Bob. I'm not on Facebook but will try to nd a classmate.

BobHere is a rst (I Think). Hicksville High School schoolmates at 70 years old reconnect and get married (actually 5 years ago). Beatrice (Bunny) Carbonaro (You know her...she knew your wife, Joyce) and John Hatten-back hooked up after all those years. I don't know of anyone from Hicks-ville High that reconnected after 59 years and got married at this stage of life! ThanksJohn Hattenback

Hello Hicksville High graduates and especially Class of 1956!I recently had the wonderful opportunity to star in the hilarious short movie comedy, “Lobster Fra Diavolo” as “Nonna,” (Grandmother in Italian). “Lobster” created by amazingly talented women, was written by Jane Barbara, produced, directed, and acted by Oriana Oppice and shot by D.P.,

Violetta D’Agata. It’s is a heartwarming, funny movie based on the true events of writer Jane Barbara and her Italian Grandmother, but people of all ethnicities will recognize their own Grandmother! The lm is currently in editing and the producers will be submitting it to lm festivals soon.  Production stills and movie info are up and I would very much appreciate it if you would take a look at them. I guarantee you’ll get a good laugh! You can see them at both http://lobsterfradiavolomovie.com/production-stills/ and on the “Lobster” Facebook page at www.facebook.com/lobsterfradiavolo. Wishing you all a Happy, Healthy and Successful 2015!Harri Molese 1956

Bob,I received your email about the In Memoriam for my class of 1963. I grew up in a Levitt house in Hicksville. Was married in1964, lived in West Babylon and Hicksville where my rst two children were born. In 1977 moved to Okla-homa City where my last two children were born. Then moved back to the island in 1989 to live in Shoreham. Then moved back to Oklahoma City in 1996. I live in Edmond, Oklahoma now which is just north of Oklahoma City. All my children and grand kids live near me and that brings me great comfort and I sit someone's kids most days. I still have the Long Island accent.I was unable to attend the reunion, but was pleased to get updates. I have many memories of growing up in Hicksville especially of going to school, starting with Fork Lane Elementary. The Middle School had just nished construc-tion of the two story add-on and new gym and cafeteria. My favorite teacher in high school was Mr. Alfano who taught social studies and Mr. Thibeau who taught Algebra. Least favorite was Mr. Morraco (Spanish); had him for three years!

(continued on following page)

(continued from previous page)

I lost track of my four closest friends from those years; Annette Sirower; Julia White; Penny Owens and Peter Wagner. Well, I am not aware that we knew each other, but I just wanted to tell you I appreciate getting updates. Some of the people who have passed, I knew. If any of my lost friends cross your path, please let me know.By the way, did you stay on the island, and what did you do with your life. Do any of my memories match with yours? Do you see any of your Hicksville friends?I would like to know. I should tell you my oldest son, Steve Lackmeyer is an author and newspaper columnist, so that he comes by asking questions because of me. I nd what people do with their lives, and what they think and say, fascinating. So I hope you do not see my questions as "nosey"Estelle Lackmeyer

NEVER ENDS...I look forward to each monthly edition, but have to dust o my memory.  Please update my email URL to (concealed).  Also, just read that Paula (Licastro) Sheppard is now in touch.  Paul's husband Steve was my best friend in '65 and '66.  We all stayed in tounch regaularly until we moved to Atlanta in '92, and thereafter intermittently.  Haven't heard from her recently. but would like to.  Please see if she would like me to send her an email, and if so, send me her address.  Thanks. Greetings from Howie Berkowitz 1966.

Howie,We have a trail of email changes for you: (6 concealed). That last one is your current email in our database. I am not going to change your email again, unless you no longer own ********@gmail.com. Sheesh.Best, Henry

HenrySorry for the tangle of addresses, but *******@hotmail.com is now the only one I use.  I hate to ask you to spend more time on this, but it would greatly facilitate my ability to stay in touch with people. ThanksHowie

OK, Howie. Your ocial email at HixNews is ******@hotmail.com. It goes without saying (though I'll say it anyway) that you hold the all-time record for email changes here at HixNews. I don't know o hand who is in second place, but nobody is even close to your half dozen changes.Best, Henry

(continued)

Well, it's not the Super Bowl, but still nice to win something! That's the old Hicksville High spirit, Howie! BTW, I liked your rst email “[email protected]” best. It had a nice ring to it. (I'll get in touch with Paula Licastro tomorrow).Best, Henry

After viewing the Class of 1960 InMemoriam Video,Tom Dackow writes:

Hi Bob, I checked out the memorial video and it was quite moving.  It is sad to see who has passed on.  Thanks for putting it together.  However, I was glad to see that I didn't make the list yet.Hope all is well with you.   Tom Dackow

After viewing the Mega Reunion Video,Dana Hayden Jackson writes:

Bob,This was wonderful. Brings back wonderful memories. I was at the mega reunion at the Huntington Town House back in 2000. I had a great time.  So good to see every one.  So many of our friends are gone now. The gang at HixNews has really helped keep us all connected. We need another mega reunion.  It's time. Thank for all you do because we appreciate it. Happy new yearDana Hayden Jackson 1962

Hi Bob,Thanks for always remembering our important dates!  Sharon and I both enjoyed the great anniversary card.  We celebrated our 47th together with a drink on the Braden River as it enters the Gulf of Mexico and then reminisced over dinner at a new favorite German restaurant for us, as we spent our rst year of wedded bliss in Uncle Sam’s Army living in Germany.  That year remains one of our favorites, after all this time! Warm regards,Joe Carfora 1962P.S.  Just picked the card up today as you sent it to my old email address, which I don’t check very often anymore.

Hicksville Author Edward Zivica’s Novel Now Available at Amazon

“Whispering Whale,” authored by1958 Hicksville High School graduate Edward J. Zivica, has been accepted by Amazon and is now available as an ebook as well as in its’ original paperback edition. With over 2,600 copies in circulation before Amazon, This epic novel charted the destruction and the eventual cleansing of the planet with a huge reduction in the popula-tion of the human species. It takes the reader into a post-apocalyptic world of survival and hardship. However, it all has not been without reason and there comes a rebirth. It is a strongly spiritual story with the characters discovering themselves and a whale with a gift to bestow. It is through the ordeals, both emotional and physical, of Justin and Nicole, that the reader discovers the

intentions of the whale and how the interaction will result in a new humankind. The depth of detail is the signature of this saga of a future that is extraordinarily plausible and terrifying. But, it is not with out reason and will lead to a new humankind. The literary style is compelling, full of natural and physical observations and descriptions. The detail of the earth's evolution is stunning and the intensely graphic. The asteroid encounter with the earth is authentic and chillingly relevant in today's climate of scientic awareness. Born and raised in New York City, Edward left the metropolis to join the U. S. Navy. After seven years of service in the submarine force as a nuclear reactor operator, he left the service a married man and the father of a little girl. He was discharged in Charleston S,C, and moved to Los Alamos, New Mexico. There, he took a job as a reactor technician. However, it was many years later that Edward, when living in Winchester Bay, Oregon, envisioned the story “Whispering Whale.” It took over twenty years of on and o eort before it's completion was achieved.

Hi Bob, Was sorry to read Bob McWilliams note on the passing of James Tweeddale. We found out we didn't live too far from each other during the 50th reunion and was able to see each other for a few times after the reunion. But time passes so quick you tend to lose touch. however. If you would like me to send you this copy for your use please let me know.Charlie CavaOcala, Florida

Steve Goldsmith

Maddy,Received the above note from Kathy today. I lost touch with Steve several years ago when his email address stopped working. His brother, Mike, and I were best friends back in the fties. We had a circle of friends...Rob McCotter, Nick Quatrone, Rod Clements, Billy Cook, Mike and me. We even built a clubhouse in Mike's backyard and dug a basement under the clubhouse. Mike moved away to Florida before graduation and he would have been in the class of 1960. Mike went to Vietnam and passed back in 1979 from complications of Agent Orange. Do you have anyparticulars about Steve's passing?Let me knowThankslove yah bualo bob

Dear Editors,My brother, Fred William Hendrickson Jr. (Skippy) died suddenly on Jan 2, 2015.  I think he was in the Class of 65.  He was also a Vietnam veteran, serving with the Air Force in Thailand, 1966-68.Thank You,Dennis Hendrickson 1970

Editor’s Note… Sorry for your loss, Dennis.  You brother has been added to our In Memoriam page.Roger Whitaker, webmaster for hixnews.com

Hi Dennis,So sorry to hear you lost your brother right after the rst of the year.  That's very tough.  We have him listed as HHS 1963 on the Vietnam War Era Memorial.  If he's 1965 I can change that.  His name was originally contributed by a friend of his.SincerelyJoe CarforaP.S.  We nally moved into our new home on12/16 and are now pretty well settled in.  Should you come up this way, here's the address (concealed)

Hi Bob, Was sorry to read Bob McWilliams note on the passing of James Tweeddale. We found out we didn't live to far from each other during the 50th reunion and was able to see each other for a few times after the reunion. But time passes so quick you tend to lose in touch. He did give me a DVD copy of the 50th reunion however. If you would like me to send you this copy for your use please let me know.Charlie CavaOcala, Florida

CharlieI have a copy of the DVD that Jim produced. The quality of the photos is really poor. Did Jim capture the majority of photos from the yearbook??? If he did and scanned them using low resolution, that would explain why the quality was poor. I can probably put the video up on You Tube and go from there. Don't know if there would be copyright infringement because some of the sounds are from the50's era.Bob

Could you please resend me the website for class of 1963 memorial? Those in my class who have died.thank you.Penelope Owen McKeever

Dear Class of 1963 I am in the process of creating an In Memoriam video for the class of 1963. Below is a listof those we know who have passed. If you know of any others that are not included, please email me with their names. Thanks so much for your help.love yahBualo Bob Casale

BobArlene was in our "high school sorority" (HA).  I have been in touch with a couple of these gals, but none of us knew what became of her after graduation.  Lovely person.  The newsletter said she has been gone for years, so I thought someone who kept in touch with her provided you with that information.Joan

A note sent to Pat Bowdridge Brimm....I have someone inquiring about the death of Arlene Osinski. You sent the following note...Arlene Osinski was a member of the class of 1963. She passed many years ago...in case you didn't have that informationThe request is when did Arlene pass??? I would be able to nd out if I knew Arlene's married name. Can you provide that information?Thankslove yahbualo bob casale

BobI don't remember. Her parents were Matty & Arlene Osinski. Her sister's name was Joanne and she married into the Bradley family. Everyone moved to Florida years ago. Her husband's name was John and to the best of my knowledge, she had 2 girls. Arlene and John were married at St. Ignatius. Hope this helps.Pat

Bob, my wife talked to the sister of Vernon Ritter about a year ago, and she said Vernon passed in 2010 at a VA hospital. Do not know the exact date or cause of death, or location, you might be able to check with the VA to get more info. I think Vernon was in the class of 63. Vernon was in the Marines in 66 & 67. Hope that helps you some.

Dear Bob,

George Filippone recently died and William McCleneghen passed away many years ago.

ThanksBob Chernok Wayne 1963

I believe Arlene Osinski was a member of the class of 1963 and she passed away a long time ago!Pat Bowdridge Brimm 1964

Bob, might you know when Arlene Osinski passed away? Joan Volonino Decker 1963

JoanUnfortunately without a married name, it's impossible to nd an

obituary that would provide the date of her passing. Do you know if Arlene was married? With that name, I should be able to provide a year when she passed. Thankslove yahbualo bob casale

Hi BobMy cousin, and fellow 63 classmate, Tom Nelsen passed away from cancer in 2009. He was a research chemist in North Carolina. Thanks for all your work. I had it spelled wrong but it is now correct.

Hi BobI read in my local paper that a class mate of ours in the 1963 graduation class died July 3, 2014. Jeanne Knight Faske was a teacher, an artist and was the sister of Paula Knight Rothchild from the class of 1961. If you Google Jeanne's name, the whole obituary comes up.

Hope this helps you with your list. I notice at times you put in the year of death in the memorial page. Is there any way you could put the year in on past deceased? You are doing a great job with our newsletter. How are you doing otherwise? Think of you often. Stay well...Hugs…Janet Emery O’Connor 1961

Dear ClassmatesStill working on the In Memoriam video for the class of 1963. I cannot nd a picture of Marty Burkhardt and Richard Dijulio. Can anyone conrm their graduating class???Thanksbualo bob casale

Hi Bob: Cathy Tranchina says Joe Barna was a close friend of Richie Dijulio. Perhaps Joe could help.Carolyn Wood Imbrie

Hey BuI believe Rich Dijulio was

class of 64.  He passed away last year.

Hi Bob,Can't help you in this case, as I don't believe I remem-ber these folks, might if I see a picture. Hope you are doing well these days, and do stay warm in the next few days as we all get slammed with cold temps. Happy New Year...Barbara DiBella Dowd 1962

BobI believe Marty Burkhart died a

couple of years ago. Also, Dave Henry died about eight years ago. Thanks for keeping track. I will do

my best to avoid the list for as long as possible.

Bob Redmon 1963BobI don't see Marty Burkhart in the yearbook. Any conrma-tion about his death??thanksbualo bob BuI guess it is possible he did not graduate? How about Mike Murray? He committed suicide in 65 after he got back from Okinawa (5 of us joined the marines together-six if you include Tommy O'Leary: Gerry Franco, Jimmy Meehan, Dave Henry, Mike Murray and me). Marty Burkhart was a medic in Vietnam (wife Virginia cabbe, called me two years ago following a rumor that I was dead, not yet apparently. We got caught up after her hubby died. sorry if I have given you bum scoop.Bob

A note to Virginia Cabbe...I'm trying to create an In Memoriam video for the class of 1963. Robert Redmon said that Marty Burkhardt passed away several years ago. He said you were married to Marty but your married name is Reinhardt. I'm confused and ask for your help. Also, I believe you mentioned to Maureen Uss that you would like a DVD of your reunion? If so, send me your snail mail address

and I'll burn a copy and mail it to you. Thanks for your help.love yahbualo bob casale BobNo need to be sorry. I'm trying to conrm every death. I inadvertently added someone to the In Memoriam list for my class of 1961 when she was still alive and living in Oregon. I had already posted the video on You Tube and had to make the change and then post again. l'll send a note to Virginia Cabbe to get the information.Thanksbu

and a few pictures later, Marty is smiling with his mouth open wide. LOL Best I can do to explain.I worked on 1968 reunions with Richie Delia back in the day. LOL…still hear about many classmates because Marty was "The Leader of the Pack" back in the day...5 1/2 years older than me. I didn't meet him until the summer of 1969. I was 19 when we married, he was 25. We both knew so many people, many in common because I have an older brother who graduated in 1965. It's been a wonderful life since starting out in Hicksville in 1951. I've seen many changes, lost many friends and family, but you, my friend, have given me and many others hours of "smiles" seeing and hearing about our good times at Hicksville High. I was there from the start of the Billy Joel years and have marveled at the accomplish-ments of so many of our graduates. You keep that alive and you keep us all feeling alive. For that I thank you from the bottom of my Hicksville Heart. Happy New Year. Stay well and keep the good times coming.Dianne and Marty Burkhardt

RogerPlease remove Martin Burkhardt from those reported as deceased for the class of 1963. I've been checking hard for conrmations and am glad that we got the above response back from his wife.Thankslove da bu

Hi Bob,I could be wrong but I believe Marty Burkhardt graduated in 1964.  I remember him being in my history class in 7th grade. Thanks for all you do.RegardsSusan Germann Mongno 1964

Hi Bob,Although Martin Burkhardt did not graduate with his class of 1963, he nished his GED in the Army. You do have a photo of Marty in the group of pictures from the reunions. He is doing well, still working and will be turning 70 in March. He is my husband of 45 years on June 21, 2015. LOLThanks for all your hard work and dedication to our history of Hicksville and our fellow classmates.Dianne (Gunnigle) Burkhardt Class of 1968

Dianne...The photo of you and Marty looks familiar. Is that the photo I should remember as being in the group of pictures??? What group of pictures??? Please advise. Thanks so much for your help.love yah bob

BobWhen you sent the wonderful shots of the reunions past, I sat and watched remembering such good times, when all of a sudden there was Marty. Not with me, just talking to some friends. Another shot was of Gerard Dombrowsky. He gradu-ated I think in 1964 or 65. He is a 9-11 hero Fireghter. He is retired now but he's also on your Vietnam Memorial. I can't pin it down better than that because there were so many photos. If I nd the email with the link, I will relay it to you. Thanks again for the memories.Dianne

BobFound out where the pix are. Flashback to the Mega Reunion 2007. When the song Joanne is playing and after you see the picture of the buet table the 67 & 69 Yearbooks appear.Jerry Dombrowsky is smiling with his thumb up

Bob,Thank you for doing this.My brother James (Merrill) Goldstein, class of 1963, passed away April 2008. The name James became ocial only after high school graduation. In high school he was known as Merrill. He completed his education with a degree from LIU Brooklyn. His sincere empathy for others has always been an inspiration for all close to him. He resided in Coral Springs, Florida.Harvey Goldstein 1964

James (Merril)l Goldstein Harvey Goldstein

HarveyThe only Goldstein's I see in the class of 1963 are Jerey and Lee. I don't see Merrill. Please adviseThanksbualo bob casale  Bob,You can nd my brother's year book photo, "Merrill Goldstein", in Comet '63 yearbook on page 56 (center bottom). Thank you for your follow up.Harvey

HarveyI never looked down because there were two Goldstein's at the top of the yearbook page. I see his picture now at the bottom of the page. DAH!!!!Thanks for your update.bob

Bob,I'm almost positive Richie was class of '63. Maybe you can check with his brother Charlie, class of '66. I hope this will help.Neil Sullivan 1966

Bob I believe Richard DiJulio was class of

1964.John D'antonio 1964

BuRichard might be in the class of '64 because I remember him (if it's the same person) from Jr. High. Thanks for doing this. It must take an enormous amount of time to do each video. The background work in itself must be time consuming. Thanks again for all you do for the alumni. Pam Kurth/Baker

Hi Bob,Richard DeJulio is a senior in the 1964

yearbook.All best,

Dennis Listort ('64)

DennisYour answer denes the problem. All along I was looking for DiJulio with an “I” and all searches were with an “I” and to nd out it’s with an “E” leads down the right path. Found him in the yearbook. Thanks for your continued help with many issues.Bualo Bob

Hello Bob, In your list of 1963 classmates, you’ve included Richard Dijulio who I believe was in the class of 1964. Thanks for all your work on HixNews, its appreciated,Ron Careaga 1963

and it turns out that it was DeJulio with an "E." And the mystery has been solved.Bualo Bob Casale

LindaThe snow picture was taken where and which grand baby is this cutie? Hope you and Jim are doing okay with all the weather you've been seeing lately. Down here in beautiful Georgia, we have seen rain.love yah bob

Hi Bob,Yes, we have had some terrible weather, but it could be worse.   The picture you are seeing is my granddaughter Vanessa Louise and she's our 6th grand-child. Vanessa is Glenn, my youngest and wife Rosemarie’s daughter and they live in Massapequa Park.  She is 2-1/2 and our pride and joy...such a sweet angel. This year she's really enjoying the snow, but while posing for the picture she said, "It's too cold!” Hubbie Jim took more pictures of her the other day that came out beautiful. Glenn and Jim love photography.  As a matter of fact, Jim and I used to do photography; weddings; Bar Mitzvahs and other events.  We really enjoyed the clients we had and all the excitement of the weddings. How are you doing?  I bet you’re glad that you are not living in New York now!  I don't like this weather at all, but my family is here. How is your family in Georgia doing?  I bet you're enjoying your grand-children also.  They are really what keeps us going....Check my Facebook pages and there are many more pictures of Vanessa. Between my husband and son, she always has a camera in her face...LOL!!!  She sees a camera and she poses…she is too much.  Sorry, but we are really proud grand-parents.I better go and get some work done.  It is always so nice to hear from you. Take care and enjoy the beautiful weather and think of us freezing up here...Your forever friend,Linda
