ATV HIPPS is a fully fledged system integrator providing SIS (Safety Integrated System) Solutions included but not limited to HIPPS.We design, manufacture, assemble, test and certify safety loop systems including IFAT (Integrated Functional Acceptance Test) performed in our own facilities. We provide startup, commissioning and Field services including system upgrades, safety assessment and SIL certification of new and existing installations.

HIPPS (High Integrity Pressure Protection System) is an indipendent SIS (Safety Instrumented System) designed to protect downstream lines and plant portion from overpressure events. It is normally used to replace partially or completely the flare and relief system as a result of an increased enviromental awareness.HIPPS is the ultimate and indipendent safety layer of a plant on prevention of dramatic event. The HIPPS system consists of at least three elements: initiators, logic solver and final elements. The main standards applicable to HIPPS are IEC 61508 and IEC 61511.

WHAT IS A HIPPS

The protection introduced by Hipps prevents overpressure and dramatic failure of the plant.Therefore, implementing a Hipps system in your plant it is a commitment to protect the enviroment, your asset and your people.

Traditional flare and relief sistems are responsible for enviromental pollution. Sustainability should not be limited to clean energy. Hipps allows to increase safety, therefore sustainability of Oil & Gas sites.Noise emissions are significantly reduced.

ARCHITECTURE

Actuated ON-OFF valves that isolate a portion of the plant/pipeline from over pressure propagation.ATV HIPPS is able to provide the most suitable valve selection based on customer specificatons and plant safety requirements.

3. FINAL ELEMENTS

HIPPS System Architecture is based on customer requirements in terms of performance and SIL (Safety Integrity Level), which are part of SRS (Safety Requirement Specifications). IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 international standards are intended to address the application in the process industries covering all aspects of design (risk assessment, conceptual design, detailed design, operation, maintenance and testing).

2. LOGIC SOLVER CABINET

It is typically an electronic hardware that continuously compare the process value coming from the initiators and perfom logic and diagnostic to operate the final elements when a demand occurs. Logic solver can be programmable or solid state depending on the maximum SIL target.

The sensing elements are used to measure the line pressure. Several voting architectures can be applied. The most used voting logic are 2oo3 or 2oo4.
