Addressing the Issues

Doing more with less, and doing it yesterday, is a familiar mantra for IT and communications executives. This is no simple task when faced with today’s increasingly connected world and the realities of managing a mixed network of analog, IP, TDM, DECT, unified communications and mobile infrastructures. And it’s further complicated by the demand to inject the necessary scalability and flexibility to support rapid organizational change.

Of particular importance is the need to deliver essential communications to hundreds if not thousands of employees spread across multiple sites in multiple geographies; often on highly fragmented, multi-vendor, multi-generation infrastructure.

The role of the IT department is constantly evolving. Having made the jump from ‘just’ delivering reliable connectivity, IT is now tasked with becoming enablers of business change. Demands here range from supporting new flexible and remote working practices to building technology platforms that support greater customer service. And these are just two of a myriad of organizational challenges that need to be addressed.

Right now line of business requirements are trending towards tablet and smartphone integration, the development of social business strategies and the widespread adoption of unified communications – requirements that didn’t exist a decade ago. As above, the nature of the organization is also changing, with remote and branch office connectivity growing in importance. Similarly, service delivery models are evolving as enterprises look to the cloud for their IT.

But in all this change the need for a scalable, reliable, enterprise-grade converged communications platform remains paramount – both to support new and legacy infrastructures at the back-end, and to deliver the workflow improvements and innovative applications at the front. And of course, all this must be achieved against a background of falling budgets and rising end-user expectations.

The HiPath 4000 difference

Solving the apparent disconnect between budgetary control and organizational demand has been one of the key drivers in the global adoption of HiPath 4000 converged IP solution for over 10 years.
