    April 2011FROM THE PASTORS DESK

Dear Brothers and Sisters, Members and Friendsof the Hill United Presbyterian Church:

There is no more important time of year for ourChristian faith than the celebration of HolyWeek with the culmination of that Great-Getting-Up-Day, the resurrection from the deadof our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ!

Jesus resurrection from death is the linchpinand foundation of Christian faith.

St. Paul, in Chapter 15 of I Corinthians, said it

    this way:

If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futileand you are still in your sins. 18Then those alsowho have fallen asleep in Christ have perished.19If for this life only we have hoped in Christ, weare of all men most to be pitied.

20But in fact Christ has been raised from thedead, the first fruits of those who have fallen

asleep. 21For as by a man came death, by a manhas come also the resurrection of the dead.22For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall allbe made alive. 23 But to each his own order:Christ the first fruits, then at His coming thosewho belong to Christ. 24Then comes the end, whenHe delivers the kingdom to God the Father afterdestroying every authority and power. 25For Hemust reign until He has put all His enemies underHis feet. 26The last enemy to be destroyed is

    death.

The Christian Faith is a resurrection faithafaith filled with eternal life, light and love!!

    AT EASTER

As Easter breathes hope for a joyous tomorrowE'en out of the depths of despair,

So may this day banish from you every sorrowAnd make you feel free as the air.

While hearing grand anthems that swell to the sky,

And breathing sweet lilies' perfume,May you feel assured that your soul will not die

As life does not end in the tomb.
