Unit 1 – DANC1-Understanding Dance

• Worth- 40% of AS, 20% of A Level

• Sit Down Written - 1 hour 30 minutes examination

• Score- 60 marks in total

The Paper(split into two sections)

• A – Structured questions (20 marks)

• B – Two essay questions (40 marks) based on set dance works taught over the year.

Filip Van Huffel’s Retina Dance- Relative Danger • Students will be able to work with a company dancer here at High

Storrs to help explore the study in depth

Matthew Bourne's – Nutcracker• Students get to study the work of one of Britain's biggest

choreographers

Alvin Ailey’s- Revelations • Students get to study culture changes and history of dance

Unit 4 – DANC4- Group Choreography and Solo Performance
